New: Mido Ocean Star Diver 600 for saturation diving

Mido announces a new diver watch: their most advanced one yet. The new Ocean Star Diver 600. Available in an all black version as well as a steel version. 600m water resistant, helium valve for saturation diving. It also features a push down bezel in ceramic with SuperLuminova Grade X markers for easy reading, while at the same time housing Mido’s COSC-certified movement the Caliber 80 Si with 80 hours power reserve.

The heart of the new model presents a distillation of several watchmaking innovations: the Calibre 80 Si, a COSC-certified chronometer movement with a silicone balance-spring, combines an exceptional autonomy of up to 80 hours of power reserve with extraordinary accuracy and ability to withstand impacts. Designed expressly for exploring the depths of the sea, the Ocean Star Diver 600 is a most superlative timepiece. Two models are announced. The first, shown left has a blue bezel and dial with a stainless steel case and bracelet, and the other with black DLC case is finished with a black bezel and dial with a rubber strap.

 

 

Built to withstand any storm, the Europa Point lighthouse watches over the Gibraltar Strait. he new Ocean Star Diver 600 complies with ISO 6425 certification, this model will join them on all their underwater expeditions. Fitted with a stainless-steel bracelet with a folding clasp, it is water-resistant to a pressure of 60 bar (600 m/1,968 ft). Nestled on top of a midnight-blue ceramic ring, the unidirectional rotating bezel features engraved numerals filled with Super-LumiNova Grade X® – an innovation that enables the diving time to be read with extreme accuracy, whatever the visibility conditions.

 

 

A small incision located on the side of the case at 9 o’clock releases any excess water trapped inside the rotating bezel mechanism to prevent corrosion. Large touches of white Super-LumiNova Grade X® are applied to the indexes of its superb lacquered graduated blue dial and the satin-finished and diamond-cut hour and minute hands to ensure perfect readability underwater and at night. The aperture at 3 o’clock indicates the date.

 

This model – expressly designed for exploring the seabed – incorporates a distillation of watchmaking innovations at its very heart. The Ocean Star Diver 600 is fitted with the Caliber 80 Si (base ETA C07.821), a latest-generation COSC-certified chronometer movement. It combines an autonomy of up to 80 hours of power reserve with good accuracy and shock resistance, provided by the silicone balance-spring. In one final surprise, the case back is adorned with a polished starfish in relief, the symbol of the Ocean Star collection.
