And we are off to SIHH. Well, actually we have arrived in Geneva by the time this article is published. And from tomorrow (Monday Jan 14, 2019), we will be filing live reports direct from the SIHH PalExpo exhibition floor. These live reports will take the form of a kind of live blogging, where we will be updating and sending live photographs of the novelties as we see them (probably with a small delay).
The reports will be not be as polished as our usual posts. All photographs taken with an iPhone and uploaded via mobile. This is in place of the DLSR and portable-studio lighting equipment we use for almost all of the photography you see in these pages. But we figured you would prefer to see the information and photographs as soon as we see and handle the watches than to wait for a more polished presentation.
The usual photography and analytical reports will follow later in the form of detailed reviews of the watches.
The live coverage will form the bulk of our articles for the following week, and press releases will be a lower priority. We will pick up with our Writer’s Armchair Picks from Saturday Jan 19, rounding up with the Chief Editor’s Picks on Tuesday Jan 22. And from thence, revert to our normal programming.
