Two new versions of the Big Date joins the classic Baroncelli collection to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mido. The new watches, called the Mido Baroncelli Big date. Here is the Press Release information.

 

 

Mido Baroncelli Big Date

The design influence is the Baroque neoclassical style of Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and showcases the sophistication inherent to the ITalian archichetural tradition. The refined, rounded form inspired the Mido design.

To mark the 100th Anniversary of Mido, the new series of watches, equipped with a large date aperture and powered by the Caliber 80 movement is announced. The new models pay tribute to the brand’s core values of founder Georges Schaeren.

The dial has a large date aperture at 6 o’clock, and is touted to be one of the largest on the market in its price category.

 

 

Two models are announced. The first is a round, two tone polished steel case of 40mm diameter with a two tone bracelet.

 

 

 

And a second version is with a rose gold PVD over a stainless steel case, and is supplied with a black rolled edge leather strap fitted with a rose gold PVD treated stainless steel folding clasp.

 

 

The dial of the Baroncelli Big Date features a graining, and sits below the domed sapphire crystal with anti reflective treatment on both sides. The hands are double sided – one side sandblasted, and the other diamond cut, to provide visual interest to the aesthetics. The seconds hand is diamond-cut. The bezel is a rose gold PVD treated double gadroon.

 

The movement is an automatic movement: the Caliber 80, which is an exclusive movement manufactured by ETA for Mido. In addition to its original date display, the Caliber 80 with large date aperture and up to 80 hours of power reserve. A decorated oscillating weight adorned with Geneva stripes and the Mido logo is visible through the transparent sapphire case back. The Baroncelli Big Date is water-resistant up to a pressure of 3 bars (30 m / 100 ft).
A total of seven Baroncelli Big Date watches have joined the Mido range.
