Live from WWG24: new highlights from Montblanc

The novelty families are from the Montblanc Iced Sea, 1858 and Minerva.

Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep 4810

Our highlights are the Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep 4810. This is a watch which interestingly use the height of Mont Blanc 4810m, but inverted under the sea. Of course, the rating for the water resistance of 4810. The case is in titanium with curved horns with a Uni-directional bezel as is required for a diving watch. The dial is in a blue sfumato with a glacier pattern. Case is 43mm with a 19.4mm height. Retail is SGD 13,400 available now. Not a limited Edition.

The case back is in titanium and engraved by a laser to show a 3D motif of underwater ice.

Iced Sea Automatic Date in bronze

We also saw the Iced Sea Automatic Date in bronze. What is new is the bronze case. The case is a special cupro aluminium alloy that is 1.5 times more resistant to corrosion and rust than regular bronze. The dial carries a black glacier pattern with beige lume on the rose gold coloured markers. The dial is very stunning, and though it is black, somehow shows up as a brown hue in our photograph. Probably due to the lighting. Retail pricing is SGD 5,800.

The case back is bronze coloured titanium. The design is screw down for water resistance of 300m.

1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen CARBO2

And the third watch that piqued our interest is the 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen CARBO2. Building on the zero oxygen process in the production of the case, the CARBO2 is a new alloy, which uses an innovative process of using captured CO2 from biogas production and mineral waste from recycling factories. The resultant material is the new alloy known as CARBO2. Visually, the case looks like smooth granite. The dial is the usual glacier pattern used in other Iced Sea watches. Retail is SGD 13,400 with a limited edition of 1969.

The case back is in titanium with a 3D laser colour engraving of the Mont Blanc mountain, shown in the photograph below on the left.

Special mention: 1858 Geosphere Chronograph 0 Oxygen Boutique Edition LE290 Reinhold Messner.

The right case back above is a colour laser engraving of the K2 Mountain. This is a special the boutique edition chronograph of the LE290 in 44mm dedicated to Reinhold Messner’s 80th birthday. The dial side is in red sfumato glacier pattern inspired by the red glaciers of Antarctica. Price is SGD 14,700, limited to 290 pieces.

We will round up with Montblanc back in Singapore with more detailed photographs and full reviews.
