We ran a mini-contest on Instagram (@Deployant) with hashtag #SpringDriveSunday for the month of August. We were very impressed with the many beautiful, and well taken pictures. And from there, we picked winner at random for a Seiko Spring Drive lapel pin.
The prize: A Spring Drive lapel pin given out at Baselworld 2013. The pin has been worn by the author a few times, but in good condition and can be enjoyed by the SD fan.
While this is not really a photo contest with critique, naturally the best photos captured our imagination. Here are the entries which we thought deserve special mention.
The Snowflake texture on the dial of the SBGA011 is captured nicely in this deep macro. Good lighting from one side allows the texture to show beautifully.
In black and white, the Marinemaster looks gorgeous.
Another good closeup, showing the Seiko finishing on the hands. The watch is a Seiko Ananta, and we thought the water droplets on the crystal adds to the impact of this shot.
Here the Credor GCLH981 markers and the counterweight of the seconds had is captured. Detailing shows the fine finish of the applique indices.
The daytime lume shot is nicely captured. Showing the bright Superluminova glow.
The Chronograph SBGC007 in a crocodile strap, in a stylized grunge look photograph. We like the heavily processed photograph and the stark shadow in the background.
And the winner, the SBGA111, but with some origami. good juxtaposition of another Japanese art form int he background.
Congratulations. We ask @the_everyday_watch to please be in touch either on IG DM or by email to deployanteditorialteamATgmail.com with your mailing address so we can send you the prize.
#SpringDriveSunday is on every Sunday. We will be spicing things up with mini-contests along the way…watch out for it!
