Blancpain is a one of the leaders when it comes to beautiful ladies timepieces, always tastefully embellished with diamonds and other precious stones, and designed with a feminine aesthetic. But also equipped with good mechanical movements. For this Valentine’s Day, Blancpain introduces the very beautiful Blancpain Ladybird Ultraplate Saint-Valentin 2016.
With this new introduction, Blancpain’s Valentine Day watches goes into its 16th edition. Last year, they debuted the lovely Blancpain with a majestic inlaid rose. This year, they outdid themselves with an even more beautiful piece. A somewhat mysterious dial, with only 4 diamonds as markers for 12, 3, 6, 9, and a heart shape right in the middle. The heart is artistically decorated with a mix of diamonds and rubies. A heart shaped ruby with a arrow in white gold hangs as a charm off the middle of the lower case horns. We must say, the watch is very attractive. In total, approx 0.700 carats of diamonds and rubies are used.
The base is once again the iconic model in Blancpain’s Women collection since 1956, the Ladybird. It was the world’s smallest round watch at the time of its launch.
The case is classical in proportions and delightfully curved to sit nicely and comfortably on a petite wrist.
The petite case measures only 21.5mm in diameter and 8.23mm thick. And within beats the manufacture caliber 6150 ultra flat automatic movement. The movement measures only 3.9mm in thickness and has a power reserve of 40 hours.
Edition size is limited to 99 pieces. Retail price S$32,600.
