The Omega Constellation “Pluma” was first launched in last year’s Baselworld. Using the iconic Constellation case, Omega further improved the watch by playing around with the aesthetics. This year, Omega did some subtle face lift on the Constellation “Pluma”.
“Pluma”, also known as “feather” in Latin, was the inspiration behind the design of the watch. Similarly to a feather, Omega hopes that the design of the watch is elegant, but subtle at the same time. The first Constellation “Pluma” certainly bestowed those characteristics beautifully.
One of the highlights of the “Pluma” would be the engraved “Mother-of-Pearl” dial. The new “Pluma” features a new and more intricate dial design, as compared to its sisters. However, unlike the previous “Pluma”, the dial on this version comes only in light-coral color. According to Omega, the light-coral color represents the warm sunshine on a summer day. The color of the dial actually pairs very well with the red gold bezel on the watch.
The “Pluma” also features 11 diamonds on the indices of the dial, as well as 32 full-cut diamonds on the bezel. The 18K gold hands of the watch are also polished and faceted, and it is filled with SuperLuminova to improve its legibility in the night.
The 27mm Constellation “Pluma” comes with a two-toned bracelet that features brushed stainless steel links and polished 18K red gold bars. The watch also features the caliber 8520 co-axial movement which can be viewed from the back, thanks to the domed sapphire crystal on the caseback. Some features on the self-winding movement includes a date display, and a 50 hours power reserve. The Constellation “Pluma” also comes with a full four-year warranty, which is a testament towards the confidence and quality of watchmaking in Omega.
With such an elegant and iconic design, we feel that the Constellation “Pluma” is certainly going to be a hit with the ladies. Do keep a look out for this piece in any Omega boutique near you soon!
