New: Ikepod Seapod S003 Camo Pixel

Commentary

Slim pickings from the release, which is reproduced in full below. The novelty is based on the Seapod diver watch, which we understand is a very popular model in the Ikepod lineup. So, a lugless dive watch on a NATO styled strap.

The dial is the center of interest. a forest camo colourway with a pixelated design. The pixels are deliberately low resolution, and come across as blocks. All the dial elements are pixelated, including the hour markers, the Ikepod logo and the minute marker with the 5 minute Arabic numerals. all pixelated. Of particular interest is the hour markers, which are cutouts on the dial for the lume, with a center dot in black.

Lume is SuperLumiNova, as usual, and is applied on the hour markers, the hand and on the markings on the bezel.

The case is black PVD, and measures a whopping 46mm, though Ikepod assures us that because there are no lugs, it will wear smaller.

Movement is Miyota 9039. At the asking price point of just a tad below USD 1.8k, this is perhaps par for the course. The S003 Camo Pixel is priced the same as the standard S003 François, which features an all black look.

Ikepod, the vintage watch from the future, relaunched more affordable and inclusive in 2018 is happy to DROP a limited edition of the Black PVD SEAPOD Diver watch. (50 pieces only)

DIALS and STRAP are in CAMO PIXEL.

-Seapod 200 meters diver, case on Black PVD designed by Fabrice Gonet, dial and strap designed by Ikepod team. 46mm lugs to lugs feels 43 on the wrist. Miyota 9039 automatic movement. 120 Clicks on the unidirectional bezel, luminova on all indexes, screwed down crown. All watches are engraved the same at the back “ 1 OF 50”. The watch is delivered with two straps, a Camo Pixel and a black one.

-CAMO PIXEL was invented in 2001 and launched in 2005. Since it has been used in military and civil clothes. Some patterns are patented. (it is difficult to see Camo Pixel in the move)

The last seasons the CAMO PIXEL was used in many fashion collections as we can see in some surplus a great source of inspiration (the “grey” Camo Pixel is no more used since 2014 and landed in Thrift shops where all fashionistas bought it)
