New from F. P. Journe: two watches in a brilliant yellow dial. Titanium case with titanium and ceramic bezel. The new Centigraphe Sport and Octa Sport.
The two models are available with a 44 mm diameter case in Titanium grade 5 of anthracite color. The bezel in Titanium and ceramic follows the codes of the Chronographe Monopoussoir Rattrapante with numbers engraved in the Titanium base. For the first time, a new bright yellow dial brings a new intensity to the lineSport with luminescent appliqué numbers surrounded with black as well as sapphire counters with red numbers.
The Centigraphe Sport
Based on the Centigraphe movement, the chronograph is capable of indicating elapsed times from 1/100th of a second to 10 minutes, totalled on 3 dials.
The Centigraph starts and stops and reset with the use of a rocker at 2 in the case band instead of the usual buttons at the side. Journe claims the design is more ergonomic on a wristwatch and has been awarded a patent (No EP 818 734 A1).
Each Centigraph purchased supports medical reserch carried out by the Institute of Brain and Spinal Cord in Paris to help fight degenerative diseases. Along with Professor Gérard Saillant, Luc Besson, Jean Réno, Jean Todt, Michelle Yeoh and Michael Schumacher, amongst others, François-Paul Journe has committed to the ICM in donating 30% of the profits from the sale of each Centigraphe Sport to the ICM.
A second patent (No EP 1 978 424 A1) was granted for the movement’s capability to effectively isolate the chronograph from the timekeeping. The balance amplitude is unaffected when the chronograph is running. Details are found in our detailed review of the Centigraphe Souverain. The movement on the Centigraphe Sport is in aluminium instead of in rose gold in the Centigraphe Souverain, but both are the same caliber.
The Octa Sport
The Octa Sport features a day and night indication and a date now even larger (4.7 x 2.6 mm) for optimal readability. The automatic winding mechanical movement is performed with a Titanium rotor and a Tungsten segment and provides the watch with 160 hours of power reserve.
The Octa calibre 1300-3 is a constant search for functionality and provides a power reserve of 160 hours. The unidirectional winding of the exclusive off-centre F.P. Journe rotor in titanium is achieved by a self-locking ball bearing system.

The Centigraphe Sport and the Octa Sport are also available with a case and bracelet in Platinum or 18K red Gold with hammered finishing.

You look like an idiot, Journe, offering these “sport” watches without useful complications. A complete joke. Who in the world uses a one hour chronograph? NOBODY. If you want a one hour function, everybody with a brain uses a dive watch bezel. Second, your Octa is not a “sport” by any means. You look so stupid putting 60 minute markings on a bezel that doesn’t rotate so it is NOT of any use! That’s what a garbage drug store watch has! You arrogant idiot! You deserve nothing but contempt.
Wow, here I thought it was an hour, but it’s only a 10 minute chronograph. Even more useless!
30m water resistance on a ‘sport’ watch? Hmm. Fecit 50m.
