Live from WWG24: new from Gerald Charles Masterlink

The retail price for two launch models of the Gerald Charles Masterlink in either blue or silver dial is CHF 24,000 with Swiss VAT. Availability from September 2024.

The legacy of watch design supremo Gerald Genta lives in the company he started in with the brand name Gerald Charles. This company has been in 2000. And for this year, they enter the luxury steel sporty watch with integrated bracelet market (which was created by Gerald Genta himself with the AP Royal Oak in 1972).

The case is rather thin as the movement is micro rotor and measures only 7.9mm thick with a nominal case diameter of 38mm.

The new watch is called Masterlink, and the interesting fact about the new bracelet is very clean looking with no exposed screws.

The butterfly clasp and pushers are also invisible. The design was made by Octavio Garcia, formerly of AP and now also running Gorilla.

The bracelet is also interesting in that it follows the case design, which features a straight edge at 12 o’clock and a curved edge for the 6 o’clock. The 3 link bracelet features polished side pieces and brushed middle. The look is quite 3 dimensional and the bracelet is very pliable.

Movement is based on a Voucher movement. The movement has a power reserve of 50 hours, running on a micro rotor winding system.
