Two models just got a whole lot brighter, perfectly in time for the summer season. PACIFIC OCEAN features a new yellow- orange NATO strap that matches the color of its case while INDIAN OCEAN is fitted with a new green NATO strap also matching its case, adding a strong, playful and original touch to Blancpain’s professional diver’s watches.
Powered by the mechanical movement SISTEM51, both watches with the new NATO straps in this collaboration are available only at selected Swatch stores worldwide. As with the Bioceramic MoonSwatch, purchases are limited to one watch per person, per store and day.
Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean
This Blancpain X Swatch watch honors Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms, the first true diver’s watch. Its green case and crown are made of Bioceramic material. The word “Swatch” is inscribed on the outer left side of the case. The metal dial is printed in several layers of color for a gradient effect. The hour indexes, hour, and minute hands, as well as the scale on the bezel, are enriched with Grade A Super-LumiNova® for outstanding legibility in the dark. The one-direction rotating green Bioceramic bezel, and biosourced glass are treated with an anti-scratch coating. The SISTEM51 mechanical movement is visible thanks to a transparent sapphire glass and features an illustration of the Indian Ocean and the Nembrotha Kubaryana nudibranch in digital print. On the Pacific Ocean model, the movement shows the Pacific Ocean and the Chromodoris Kuiteri nudibranch in digital print. Five inspirational inscriptions can be found on the back of the watch: PASSION FOR DIVING – LICENCE TO EXPLORE – OCEAN BREATH – PROTECT WHAT YOU LOVE and IMMERSE YOURSELF. The NATO strap is made of recycled fishing nets that were removed from the sea. The pin buckle and loops are made of Bioceramic material.
