For Pre-SIHH 2017, Baume & Mercier is whipping up our appetite with two additions into their flagship collections: the Clifton GMT Power Reserve and the Promesse Moon Phase.
The two new additions, incidentally, have a common theme – Blue. In the words of Baume & Mercier, there are akin to “lights in the blue sky”, with the one for the globetrotting gentlemen and the other for the astrology-loving ladies. The watches are on the dressier side, with the blue dial accentuating their style and elegance.
Clifton GMT Power Reserve
The Clifton is one of the flagships in Baume & Mercier’s repertoire, and the latest addition features a useful complication for travelers – the dual time indicator. The complication is brilliantly placed at the 12 o’clock position of the watch, which blends in with the blue dial seamlessly. In addition, it provides a nice symmetry together with the power reserve indicator as well
Powered by the Soprod 9035, the automatic timepiece boasts a decent power reserve of around 42 hours. It also has a variety of finishing which includes circular graining, blued steel screws, and Côtes de Genève finishing.
Finally, the watch is fitted with a classy black alligator strap, with a triple folding buckle. Overall, the 43mm timepiece is dressy, and it is definitely something that a frequent-traveler might want to look at.
Promesse Moon Phase
Next up, we have something more dainty – with the Promesse Moon Phase. The watch, as seen in the picture, combines beautiful aesthetics with an interesting complication. On one hand, the watch is fitted with 30 diamonds. And on the other hand the watch comes with a moon phase indicator, a complication that is rather attractive.
The 34mm watch is fitted with a blue lacquered dial, and it is powered by a Ronda quartz movement. It is paired with a complementary blue alligator strap, which adds a nice touch to the timepiece.
