Only Watch 2015: Zenith El Primero “Lightweight” Tribute to the Rolling Stones

by Robin Lim on July 6, 2015

When two legends come together to do something, the result is usually spectacular. The partnership between Zenith and the Rolling Stones is no exception.  Both of them are legends in their own field, and we can only expect something amazing when the both of them collaborate together.   They have come up with a special timepiece for Only Watch 2015.  The Zenith El Primero “Lightweight” Tribute to the Rolling Stones.

The Zenith El Primero “Lightweight” Tribute to the Rolling Stones is actually based on the El Primero “Lightweight”.  Some changes have been made to the Tribute to the Rolling Stones edition to make it stand out.  One difference is the 45mm case, in which this piece unique features an alluring titanium black DLC case.We are not sure if this was inspired by one of Rolling Stone’s most famous hit, “Paint it Black”!

Another subtle but interesting feature on this timepiece would be the minute and hour hands of the watch. For the Rolling Stones fanatics, they will immediately recognize that the hands resemble the fretboard of Keith Richard’s Fender Telecaster guitar.

On top of that, both the strap and the oscillating weight are adorned with the famous red tongue logo of the Rolling Stones. One interesting thing to note is that the unique rubber strap featuring a Barenia calfskin insert is embossed with the Union Jack as well.

Finally, the watch comes in a presentation box bearing the Rolling Stones logo. For those who are interested , this watch will be up for sale at the Only Watch charity auction, taking place in Geneva on 7 November 2015, to assist in furthering research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. For more information on this timepiece or the auction, please do log on to Phillips Watches.
