For the 2015 Only Watch Charity Auction, Christophe Claret pays tribute to hope and peace with the Christophe Claret Espoir & Paix piece unique. The watch has a interesting caseback and dial.
The mirascope found on the center of the emerald-set dial, a gem symbolizing hope, forms an image of the emerald that nearly doubles its apparent size. The hour and minute hands were designed around the mirascope, placed inside the bezel to indicate time in an innovative way.
At the start we mentioned that the watch pays tribute to hope and peace. On the caseback, a portrait of Alfred Nobel is engraved on a black anodized aluminum oscillating weight, which is surrounded by engraved names of all 129 Nobel Peace Prize recipients. The caliber AVE15 self-winding movement contains 186 parts, with twin barrels providing 72-hours of power reserve. The white gold and anthracite gray PVD titanium case measures 44 mm in diameter.
All funds resulting from its sale will benefit research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
