Four new creations with an “Urban Safari’’ theme will be released from the Seiko Prospex Street Series. Two mechanical, two solar quartz.
Press Release
The original “Tuna” diver’s was released at the end of May of 1975, exactly 45 years ago. Its faithful re-creation will also be released from Prospex. Our review will be out later today. But for now, a press release of the new “Urban Safari”.
Seiko Prospex ‘‘Urban Safari’’
The series, which made its debut in 2018, inherits the design essence of the 1975 Professional Diver’s that was nicknamed “Tuna” by watch fans. These watches feature modern and playful designs that mix the urban feel of Tokyo with safari colors.
Each of the four new watches features an outer case protector, which has been the most iconic design of the original watch. SRPE29 and SRPE31 are the first two mechanical watches in this series, equipped with the 4R36 movement.
SNJ029 and SNJ031 are the modern versions of the Hybrid Diver’s from 1982, which is also loved by fans and given the nickname “Arnie’’. Both analog and digital displays are available.
