Seiko extends their Presage Cocktail Time Star Bar series with two new watches inspired by the colours of the sunset over Tokyo.

New: Seiko Presage Cocktail Time

The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time Purple Sunset Ref. SRPK75 will retail at USD 550, limited edition of 9000 pieces. And the Pinky Twilight Ref. SRE014 will retail at USD 575, limited edition of 5000 pieces. Prices are before tax.

Commentary

Working once again with Hisashi Kishi, the head bartender and owner of the STAR BAR in Tokyo’s Ginza area and a past winner of the International Bar Association World Championships, Seiko creates another set of two Seiko Presage models. This time, the inspiration is the Tokyo sunset, the cocktails reflect the tones of the evening sky. The watches are respectively inspired by the cocktails.

The first, a gentleman’s model, dubbed the Purple Sunset has a case size of 40.5mm with colour gradations from navy to purple, in what photographers call the blue hour, just after the sun sets.

And the other is a ladies sized piece known as the Pink Twilight with a case size of 30mm, depicting the colour gradation from light pink to yellow in what photographers call the golden hour, just before the sun sets.

Prices have risen somewhat over the years, but remain modestly appropriate and in line with the other watches in the Cocktail Time collection.

Concept

In collaboration with STAR BAR, designs inspired by the beautiful sunsets of Tokyo.

Two new models join the Seiko Presage STAR BAR series. The dial of each watch is decorated with a gradation of the changing colors and a wavy pattern reminiscent of clouds floating in the sky.

The first bartender to be awarded the “Contemporary Master Craftsman” award, STAR BAR owner Hisashi Kishi created the original cocktails that inspired each watch. The cocktails themselves were inspired by the beautiful sunsets of Tokyo, Japan.

Purple Sunset

The dial is inspired by Purple Sunset, an original cocktail by creation of STAR BAR. The gradation from navy and to purple on expresses the sky at sunset as it dims while retaining the reddish hues of the setting sun.

Pinky Twilight

The dial is based on the Pinky Twilight, another original cocktail created by STAR BAR. The delicate gradation from light pink to yellow expresses the pale, glowing sky at sunset.
