First launched in 2015, the MB&F LM Perpetual has been crafted since in red gold, platinum, white gold and titanium. Today MB&F announces a new Legacy Machine Perpetual in 18k yellow gold case with striking blue face. A limited edition of 25 pieces.

We covered the announcement in 2015 with a detailed hands-on review- see link below:

Essential Reading: MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual Calendar Review

Press Release with commentary

The new LM Perpetual Calendar is exactly the same as we have reviewed with the exception of the following

  1. an deep blue blue main dial
  2. case crafted in yellow gold

The key perpetual calendar features remain the same. The clever mechanical processor remains, and the watch allows quick adjustment forwards and backwards of all indications. The calendar is also able to display the correct calendar indication with no skipping over of redundant days on months shorter than 31 days.

The photographs do suggest that the blue dial is very similar to the one used in the original hue chosen for the platinum edition. But closer examination reveals that the new blue in the yellow gold case is deeper than the pale blue found in the platinum.

Please do read our original review, as well as the release notes on the green dial version found here. Our conclusions drawn from our first review remain unchanged, and we are still in awe of the technical virtuosity as well as the physical beauty of the LM Perpetual, in yellow gold and the dark blue dial.
