Press Release

Available only in Asia Pacific, the new collection is offered its signature Cintrée Curvex case (in rose gold or stainless steel) is adorned with 66 brilliant-cut diamonds, infusing subtle flair. At a svelte thickness of 9.35mm, the 32.10mm wide Cintrée Curvex case rests squarely and comfortably on any fair maiden’s wrist, owing to its ergonomically curved case back.

There are 4 different dials with 4 different pastel tones in blue, orange, purple and beige. Each of these dials features a playful mishmash of the iconic bold Franck Muller indices hand-painted onto the sunburst guilloche dial, which is generously coated with no less than 20 layers of lacquer, radiating a splendid sheen.

As is customary in the Crazy Hours collection, the true magic of this elegant mechanical marvel begins every 59th minute, as anticipation of the dynamic hour switch beckons. At the 60th minute, the hour hand springs audibly to the next hour index in an explosive flick, halfway across the handsome glistening dial, befuddling some onlookers, but creating in the wearer utmost glee.

The Crazy Hours complication eschews the normalcy of time-telling by jumbling the twelve numerals that indicate the hours, and then redistributing them across the dial. If one attempts to read the time by glancing at the relative positionin of the hands, as on a regular clockface, it will be read incorrectly more than half the time.

Why make time telling so complicated, then? But as Mr Franck Muller himself would say, why not? Complemented by a supple hand-stitched alligator strap, anchored by a steel or gold ardillon Franck Muller buckle with 8 brilliant-cut diamonds, the overall look and feel of this new Cintrée Curvex Crazy Hours Pastels Asia Exclusive collection offers a subdued and classy air of confidence, as well as a healthy dose of frivolity. After all, with such an entrancing entity on one’s wrist, time does not have to matter, much.
