Live from WWG 24: the new Ulysse Nardin Freak S Nomad

We now cover with our first impressions when handling the watch with live photographs.

This novelty is a reworking of the Freak S, the first self winding double tourbillon coupled by a differential to the main wheel train. The movement was first released in 2022, and was released in the launch model with a limited edition of 75 pieces. Now the time is ready for the second expression of the same movement.

The idea is mix the high tech of the movement with traditional low tech guilloché on the dial plate. The guilloché is made with a traditional rose engine. The pattern is point de diamond. The entire dial needs to be done in one go, which takes some 3 hours to complete. If it halts during this period, the dial is spoiled.

The watch is very impressive and is certainly a worthwhile successor to the original Freak. No dial, no hands, no crown!
