Zenith focus the 50th Anniversary of the El Primero.

We begin with the Zenith Defy Inventor – the commercial edition of the Defy Lab launched in 2017 which we have covered in detail. Case size 44mm in titanium case and aeronity bezel.

The frequency is increased from 15Hz to 18Hz. Now triple certified: Chronometer Certified by TimeLab, ISO-774 for magnetism and ISO-3159 for temperature insensitivity. Priced at S$ 27,200/CHF 18,100.

Next, the Defy 21 Double Tourbillon is the basic Defy 21 (launched 2017) now equipped with 2 Tourbillons.

As with the Defy 21, one tourbillon is in the timekeeping functions running at 5Hz making one revolution per minute. And another tourbillon is for Chronograph running at 50Hz making one revolution every 5 seconds. LE 50pcs in carbon at S$173,000/CHF 119,900 and 10pcs in plat at S$215,500/CHF 149,000.

The 50th Anniversary Trilogy: three El Primero in RG, WG and YG. This is available individually at S$30,200/CHF19,900 and comes with a 50 year warranty. Case size 39mm.

Two Pilot Type 20 Adventure – a chronograph El Primero and a three hand version Elite. Both in bronze case, 45mm. Military look with a green dial.

Chrono is S$11,900/CHF7,900 and three hand S$11,200/CHF7,400.

  1. I am fascinated by the Inventor, which is priced lower than I thought it would be for such new tech.

    Did it feel special, or did it seem like a regular Defy but with a flickering screen?
