The Series 103 Traditional Pilot Chronograph has been a mainstay in the Sinn collection for quite some time, and it has spawned a variety of variations from time to time. It is widely popular with collectors, thanks to its reliability and ruggedness. This time, the watchmaker is expanding its traditional 103 series by presenting the 103 A Sa B.
For collectors who are familiar with Sinn watches, the 103 A Sa B is certainly a breath of fresh air. One of the highlights of this watch is certainly its refreshing electric blue color scheme. In terms of aesthetics, it is certainly much more exciting and outstanding as compared to the original black variants.
Several changes to the watch includes the dial, bezel, as well as the strap. The Sinn 103 A Sa B, firstly, comes with a stunning blue electroplated sunburst dial and silver electroplated counters. We like how the sunburst effect gives the watch a different sort of feel, especially when it is worn outdoors or under a light source. Next, the bezel now features the same electric blue color to compliment with the dial of the watch. Finally, it is paired with a nice blue cowhide leather strap with alligator embossing. Interestingly, the watch also comes with a grey textile strap. The latter is certainly useful, especially if one plans to wear the Sinn 103 A Sa B to partake in some activities outdoors.
The watch is powered by the ever-reliable Valjoux 7750, a self-winding movement that features the chronograph function, as well as a date and day indicator. Additionally, the movement is able to withstand both shock and magnetism, as per the DIN 8308 and DIN 8309 standards. This is an extremely well-built and utilitarian movement, and it is certainly a workhorse which is capable of performing under many tough conditions.
There are several other features on this watch as well, which includes the Ar-Dehumidifying Technology (which prevents fogging and increase functional reliability), a luminous triangle marker on the “0/60” position of the bezel (to increase functionality and increase legibility in the dark), as well as a pressure-resistant case of up to 20 bar.
This 41mm Stainless Steel timepiece is limited to 500 pieces, and each of them is individually numbered on the rotor of the watch itself. In our opinion, this timepiece is definitely worth a look, if one is eyeing for a chronograph that offers an excellent value proposition.
