To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Singapore’s Independence on the 9th of August 2015, Montblanc introduces a limited edition Star Classique timepiece and a range of commemorative Meisterstück White Solitaire writing instruments.
Limited to just 50 pieces, the Star Classique Singapore Special Edition timepiece is characterized by a pure white mother-of-pearl dial with Arabic numerals, and the precious red gold-plated feuille hour and minute hand, delivering perfect readability.
The watch uses a 39mm red gold case with curved lugs that gives this watch an anatomical contour that fits perfectly around its wearer’s wrist. The onion shaped crown is fit with the Montblanc emblem and a black alligator-skin strap with red gold pin buckle nicely contrasts with the case and dial. Notably, the small second a “6 o’clock” with its red hand features the Lion’s head pays tribute to Singapore’s landmark anniversary. The traditional symbol introduced by the Government in 1986 also capture’s Singapore reputation as the Lion City.
A pane of sapphire crystal in the back of the case features Singapore’s skyline, which outlines some of the most iconic buildings of the Lion City including Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer and the Gardens by the Bay. Beyond the skyline, watch connoisseurs are invited to enjoy the view of the self-winding mechanical calibre.
Apart from the limited edition timepiece, a Meisterstück White Solitaire Fountain Pen, Rollerball and Ballpoint Pen with its cap and barrel in precious white lacquer and red gold fittings have also been decorated with references to Singapore’s special anniversary. The forepart of the writing instruments is engraved with the city’s skyline, while the Au750 gold nib of the fountain pen is elegantly embossed with the lion’s head and the “SG 50” symbol.
In celebration of Singapore’s anniversary, a portion of the proceeds raised through the sale of every unique SG 50 writing instrument or timepiece will be translated to the nominated Pathlight School’s Poor and Needy Fund. With this initiatie, proceeds will be able to better help children with special needs to reach their potential.
“Pathlight School has addressed an important need for children with autism and their families in Singapore, and has provided the opportunity to share with them different experience through a unique blend of mainstream academics and life readiness skills, so that their potential can be maximized from an early stage in their life. We are pleased to be able to support this cause, for it provides a transformational learning journey for every pupil in Pathlight and develops the greatest potential of each child in both academic and life skills.’ says Mr. Andreas Boesch, Managing Director, Montblanc South East Asia.
The Montblanc Star Classique Singapore Limited Edition costs S$14,200 including taxes and will be available from August. For further information, visit www.montblanc.com
