Introducing the Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso Night & Day Singapore Special edition with live pictures and pricing

by Nick Gould on June 27, 2015

On the 9th of August 2015, Singapore celebrates its 50th year of independence.  To mark this momentous occasion, Jaeger Le Coultre has produced a watch that we think is a very fitting tribute.  Introducing the Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso Night & Day Singapore Special edition.

The Reverso has become an icon in watchmaking with its reversible case.  The reverse side of the watch provides a canvas for something special to be placed there, something only the wearer of the watch knows is there.

The Grande Reverso case was chosen for this special edition timepiece. It measures 46,8 X 27,4 mm, and is 9.14mm thick.  The case is made from stainless steel.

Something special: The iconic Reverso case, which reveals something special when flipped over.

The dial features a silver-toned guilloché Clous de Paris pattern in the centre.  This is surrounded by Arabic numerals for the hours.  Located at the 6 o clock position is the day and night subdial, with the smaller inner circle decorated to differentiate the sun and the night sky.  The hour and minute baton hands have been flamed blue, as well as the day/night triangular indicator.  This provides a lovely contrast to the silver coloured  dial and stainless steel case.

Flipping the watch to the reverse side, reveals what Jaeger LeCoutre placed as a fitting tribute to Singapore’s 50th year of independence.

The Reversal: Flipping over the watch reveals why this piece is a special edition to Singapore!

The Singapore map is featured and is filled in with  the flag of Singapore in a red and white lacquer, the years 1965-2015 in black have been placed underneath it.  Majulah Singapura!(Onward Singapore!).

The movement powering the watch is the mechanical  automatic winding, Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 967B with a 42 hour power reserve.

It will be a limited to 50 pieces with no edition number present on the caseback.

Not Numbered: The stainless steel case back sans any identification indicating a  limited edition

We think Jaeger LeCoultre has done a wonderful job with this timepiece and it is a fantastic way to mark the 50th year of Singapore’s independence.   Better be quick in securing one of the fifty pieces because we have a feeling these will be snapped up very very quickly!

The watch will retail for $13,900 Singapore Dollars and will only be available from the Jaeger-LeCoultre Flagship Boutiques in Singapore at ION Orchard and Marina Bay Sands.
