The Tudor Bronze Black Bay has received much of the attention at Baselworld 2016, along with the news that the rest of the 41mm Black Bay collection will be receiving an in-house movement. One other watch Tudor released with a smaller case and sans rotating bezel got our attention. Introducing the Tudor Heritage Black Bay 36.
The new Tudor Heritage Black Bay 36 is 36mm in diameter hence the 36 in its name. What grabs your attention immediately is how beautiful the watch looks. The Heritage Black Bay 36 is 5mm smaller than its bigger brother and Tudor have removed the rotating bezel used for timing dives.
The dial is black with crisp white printing for the minute track, brand logo and depth rating. The Tudor signature “snowflake” hour hand and long minute hand contrast nicely against the dial and the white hour markers. With the timing bezel replaced with a fixed polished stainless steel bezel, it could easily be worn with casual or formal attire.
Unlike the upgraded Tudor Black Black Bays, the Heritage Black Bay 36 houses the self winding 2824 calibre, which is a robust and proven workhorse movement.
For those with smaller wrists (the author included) the 36mm case is a great size and should look quite nice on the wrist. There are 2 options for the bracelet/strap when purchasing the watch. The first is a stainless steel bracelet and the other is an aged leather strap. Both come with an additional camouflage NATO strap.
A great looking watch and great work from Tudor once again!
The Tudor Heritage Black Bay 36 will retail for CHF 2,400.
