It’s the jolly time of the year when we get our hands on presents and wishful thinking. In the coming articles, our writers share their personal grails for the year end and their Christmas Wishlist. To start us off, here are three Calendar timepieces from Chester, befitting the wishfulness of the season.

Chester Makes His Christmas Wishlist for 2022

Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Travel Time Ref. 5326G-001

A brand new watch from Patek Philippe combining two of their practical complications – the annual calendar and travel time. Introducing the new Annual Calendar Travel Time Ref. 5326G-001. The new watch offers Patek’s specialty of the annual calendar working in tandem with their two timezone complication.

Combining both complications makes a superbly useful travel watch. The calendar means that you don’t have to worry about the date, which the watch will get correct all the time, safe for one adjustment every year, especially useful when traveling and using the two timezone function which allows both local time and home time to be read at a glance. The entire date mechanism follows local time.

Retail price for the Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Travel Time Ref. 5326G-001 is SGD 101,300 inclusive of GST.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Skeleton in Pink Gold with Blue Dial

Just like the award-winning variant, this one is also rendered in 18K 5N pink gold. And like all iconic sports watches, the case features distinguishing design elements such as its tonneau shape and Maltese cross bezel. Every surface of the case is either mirror polished or satin-finished, with one highlighting the other. Matching the case and dial are a full pink gold bracelet with links resembling Maltese half-crosses, a blue calf leather strap with white stitches, and a blue rubber strap. Thanks to the proprietary quick-release system for the straps, going from bar to beach with the Overseas is easier than ever.

The Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Skeleton with blue dial marries opulence with artistry. Its contemporary aesthetics is accompanied by artisanal finishing of both the skeleton dial and the movement. One thing nobody will disagree on is the exceptional quality of craftsmanship that has gone into every component, from movement to the bracelet. The Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Skeleton with blue dial is a regular production piece with a price tag of EUR130,000.

Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 5270P-014

The Ref. 5270 is Patek Philippe’s current resident perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch. Born in 2011, the Ref. 5270 is the culmination of the brand’s watchmaking know-how, and a worthy successor of the cult-favourite Ref. 5970 before it. It’s hard to believe that the Ref. 5270 has been around for 11 years now. But what’s more amazing is how Patek Philippe has managed to keep the reference fresh i.e. by introducing new generations, bringing back the adored salmon dial, and this year, presenting a potentially divisive green dial. At Watches & Wonders 2022, Patek Philippe introduced the Ref. 5270P-014. This latest release represents the first piece of the next (fourth) generation of the Ref. 5270.

The Ref. 5270P-014 is priced at EUR189,500, EUR20,000 more than the salmon-dialed Ref. 5270P – the last platinum variant introduced.

  1. Thanks for the article, Chester. I tried on the Patek Annual calendar and it’s one of those watches that was physically painful to take off. It would be a great daily wearer, traveller, etc.

May Santa leave one in your stocking this year.
