A quick shoutout to a British GQ video we recently saw on YouTube, where Pierce Brosnan talks about the 10 things he can’t live without. And a section on his love for watches.

Shoutout: Pierce Brosnan talks about his love of watches on British GQ

Here are the watches he talked about in the video.

Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 Réserve de Marche

The first watch he talked about was the watch he wore for the video. A Girard-Perreguax Vintage 1945 Réserve de Marche. In the interview, he mentioned that Girard-Perregaux used to work for Patek Philippe and then came out on his own, but we are sure he was referring to Laurent Ferrier in that comment and not the GP which he owns. As we know, Girard-Perreguax has no relation to Patek Philippe. We do not know if he owns an Laurent Ferrier.

Speaking of the GP, he recounts his buying experience. One which many of us watch collectors would easily identify with.

“I was in New York doing Laws of Attraction with Julianne Moore. I bought it. I came out of the store, my knees were shaking [due to]how much money I just dropped.”

Pierce Brosnan

Cartier Pasha Automatic

He specifically mentioned Blancpain, Cartier and Tag Heuer. And wee spotted this photograph of him on the red carpet of the James Bond premiere, where the character was sponsored and wearing the brand correct Omega Seamaster, but the actor Pierce was wearing his Cartier Pasha Automatic in yellow gold.

Pierce is often seen with his own watches when he is acting, where there is no appropriate named sponsor. In the remake of the original Thomas Crown Affair, he was wearing a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso.

Panerai Luminor Marina PAM 00091

In the movie, After the Sunset where he starred with Woody Woody Harrelson and Salma Hayek, he wore the Panerai Luminor Marina PAM 00091, a watch which he revealed that he bought when he was working on that movie.

A close up to for another look at the PAM 00091 on bracelet.

Montblanc

For the new movie Black Adam, he mentioned that he wore a Montblanc, which his wife Keely bought for him while playing Doctor Fate. He also mentioned that he got along particularly well with our friend Aldis Hodge who played Carter Hall/Hawkman. We did not find any photographs of him wearing the watch. The movie is set to release the day after we publish this article on October 3.

The only picture we found with Pierce showed a bracelet on his right wrist, but it is probably not a watch, as he normally wears his watch on his left wrist. Also, the bracelet is not identifiable as a watch bracelet.

Omega

Of course, in his years playing James Bond, which was then (and now) sponsored by Omega, he was wearing various Omega timepieces, which he also mentioned in the video interview.

Speake-Marin

Interestingly, for a while at least, Pierce was also an ambassador to the small independent brand Speake-Marin. Peter Speake, who was then the principal of Speake-Marin worked as a consultant to the movie Survivor where Pierce played a watchmaker. And supplied one of his watches as the props for the movie. Peter tells us that “Pierce started posting pictures of himself and his watches on Instagram and it seemed like a natural thing to do to ask him if he was interested in taking it to another level.”

“He is classical with a twist as is my work; he is also in his own right an artist as well as an actor. When we first met we became friends within minutes, in a slightly surreal way. We are kindred spirits from different worlds. We both love what we do and we both live in creative worlds.”

Peter Speake

Peter told us that Pierce was very easy to work with, and not demanding at all, and as a small independent brand did not pay him for his representation, but only offered a few watches in exchange. Peter Speake has left the brand, and now on his own as the Naked Watchmaker. We are not sure if the relationship is maintained with the new ownership of Speake-Marine. But we have not seen recent promotional material and can only assume that the relationship is no longer in place.,
