Pre SIHH 2015 news from IWC. A new watch will be added to the Portofino line: The Hand-Wound Pure Classic. An elegant looking two handed watch.
The dial of the watch has been kept remarkably clean looking with no date, seconds hand or power reserve indicator in sight, just the hour and minute hands. The only other details present are the 12 and 6 in roman numerals, the minute track around the outer edge of the dial and the IWC Logo in capital letters.

The movement powering the watch is the in house calibre 59060 which is hand wound and has a power reserve of 8 days or 192 Hours.

Two large bridges conceal the rear of the movement almost entirely, leaving just the balance on view. This contemporary watch design guarantees an impressive level of robustness and reliability.
The upper bridge serves as a bearing for the barrel, the differential and the winding mechanism, while the lower bridge fulfills the same function for the power reserve display and conceals the train-wheel bridge below. All bridges are exquisitely decorated with Geneva stripes. The movement also features an index-less balance, which has four golden weight screws on the balance rim to facilitate precision adjustment.
Both the stainless steel and 18 carat red gold cases are 43.5mm. This may seem a little big for a dressier watch but we will have to wait and see what they are like on the wrist, before passing judgement.

Both models come on straps that are made exclusively for IWC Schaffhausen by renowned Italian shoe manufacturer Santoni.
The Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic is available in an unlimited edition exclusively at selected IWC boutiques. The stainless steel model will retail for S$13,400 including GST and the rose gold model will retail for S$31,000 including GST in SIngapore.
