Watches & Wonders come around again. And we are excited to be there. This is what is in our camera bag that we are packing to cover the show and bring you photographs and videos.

What’s in my camera bag: the new Watches & Wonders 2025 edition

We first What’s in my camera bag back in 2019on this website. Then, I brought with me my Profoto Compact 600 studio strobe. Here is a behind the scenes article. Last year, the gear list was updated with the Fujifilm GFX system and was documented in this article. For the first time, Stanley came along, and he was armed with the Sony ZVE-1 II. This year, our gear list changed once again. And we are locked and loaded with a bunch of Leica gear.

The bag

This is a new version of the Chinese made magnesium/aluminium cabin trolley I used last year (and which I had since 2023 WWG). Pretty much the same, but this one is closer in design to the Rimowa Pilot’s Case with its rounded corners. The colour chosen is champagne to differentiate it from the silver one I have been using. The old case is still operational, but I decided to get a new case for the new camera system.

The main camera and lenses

This year, we have invested in a new Leica system. This is also to support our thriving YouTube channel to be able to create high quality videos. As outlined in this article and video, the system comprise of the Leica SL3-S with the Leica Summicron-SL 35 and Summicron-SL50 with Laowa 90mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO.

Stanley is also sporting a new camera – the Leica Q3 43 (review coming). Not ours, at least not yet, and thus is another loaner. He will be using the camera for his pre-WW journey, as well as during the show. The Q3 43 is the same camera as the regular Q3 which we reviewed here, but instead of the Summilux 28 lens, it is equipped with the fabulous APO Summicron 43mm.

Lighting

Not much changed, the formula of the twin Canon EX580 Speedlights with the collapsible tent works great, and there is no need to change. The same Godox trigger system also remains.

For video lighting, a small Ulanzi USB powered light is used. We think this section will be increasing significantly as we improve our video quality.

Sound

This was not a category in last year’s bag, as all our videos were done using our iPhones and the built in microphones. For wireless duties, we have the Hollyland Lark M2 wireless microphones which can be plugged into the Leica SL3-S or into our iphones. And to supplement as a third microphone, a wired Boya Lav mike is also packed into the sound pack.
