We took this video inside the Grönefeld booth at Watches & Wonders Geneva 2025.

Grøne Manueel One

Democratisation? Or an opportunity to increase revenue by offering a low cost alternative to the skills and labour intensive independent watches? The Grönefeld brothers have taken this route as well. The watches look well made, with an interesting two level dial design. The center carries a patterned tremblage motif and the chapter ring around the peripheral which carries a circular brushed finish. The tremblage is stamped, given the price point of just over EUR 2k. Two dial variants are available, one inspired by Tim and the other by Bart.

The movement is a hand wound manual winding caliber SW210, though in the video, Bart mentioned that it was supplied by Soprod. The movement is modified so that the crown winding feel has just the right amount of feel that the brothers prefer. A nice touch!

Gronefeld 1944 Tanfana

Their first ladies watch! The Tanfana, a pagan goddess of the Germanic people. The name was mentioned in the works of Tacitus and in the Germanic mythology collected by Jacob Grimm. Tamfana is considered a guardian of peace and harmony.

The case and dial of the 1944 Tanfana is 37.4mm in diameter, but carries the standard Principia cal. G-06, but with a smaller rotor. The rotor also carries an engraved medallion with the Tree of Life.

On the dial side, the dial is made of aventurine in glossy midnight blue and pad printed with a geometric motif known as the “Flower of Live”. The small seconds display is dispensed with, and in its place a disc is used as a running indicator which makes one revolution every minute. This display is made of two components, both of which carry floral motifs. One is fixed to the dial, but the other carries the running indicator. As time passes and the floral motif rotates, it creates a mesmerising moiré effect, reminiscent of a flower endlessly blooming.
