Ulysse Nardin’s Marine Torpilleur Military edition, a chronometer for a whole new generation of adventurer. The military inspired watch is a direct descendant of the pocket chronometers used by the sea captains of the 19th century, redesigned as a wrist watch. It uses the same Ulysse Nardin UN-118 in-house automatic movement as the Marine Chronometer.

The Case and Dial

Two dial variations are available; one with an eggshell white dial, with outlined Arabic numerals and the other in black, with orange Arabic numerals and superluminova-coated hands.

The larger 44 mm case size and pocket watch dimensions add to dial legibility even in low light conditions. This is also possible due to applied superluminova markers and hands. Both models feature military watch features like those on Big Pilot watches, an oversized onion crown, and a steel sand-blasted case. The watch is water-resistant to 50 meters, and stamped on the back with the distinctive Torpilleur.

The Movement

Powered by the Ulysse Nardin UN-118 manufacture movement. The 60 hour power reserve automatic movement uses a Silicium anchor escapement and is tested to COSC standards. A sub seconds at 6 o’clock is complemented by a red serial number, individually marked in a 300 pieces limited edition run. The initials C.W. stand for Chronometer Watch, referencing the military models of the past.

The watches were last listed at CHF 7,900.
