Spot the Watch: Vladimir Putin and his A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down

No politics just strictly watches for this Spot the Watch.    It has been widely reported that Vladimir Putin has an A. Lange & Söhne Tourbograph but no one has provided a photograph of said watch on the wrist.  But we do know he has another timepiece from Lange from photograph hunting recently. He has a 1815 Up/Down in platinum.

It is a platinum model with all the distinctive features visible in the photos, which allows for a positive identification as an 1815 Up/Down.  These photos are from around circa 2006 and this was before spotting watches on people had really taken off.  An interesting fact is the normal Lange 1815 time only model and the 1815 Up/Down both have the same case sizes.

Close up of the watch on his wrist.  You can see the two sub dials at 4 and 8 o’clock, one for the running seconds and the other for the power reserve indicator with GANGRESERVE written on the outer side of the indicator.
