Omega raises warranty for all watches sold from 1 July 2018 to 5 years. This makes Omega the second major manufacture to warrant their watches for 5 years, up from the industry standard 2 years. Rolex made this move in 2015. And Ulysse Nardin, a small manufacture which is part of the Kering Group is the only other manufacture to offer this long warranty period (2017).

Omega is the world’s second largest watch brand by sales turnover, says that they are confident in the quality of their watches following significant enhancements in the quality of their watches. And follows some major announcements by the company, including the Master Chronometer certification, and the opening of its modern industrial factory at its HQ site in Bienne, Switzerland. As well as assembly, the site provides new testing and quality control facilities that examine many of the brand’s timepieces in greater detail than ever before.

  1. Christopher Ward does it and Farer does it too.
It’s not such a big deal for a big player like Omega.
