The new Sinn 105 line

A completely new line, known as the 105 series, with 4 new watches – the day/date automatic, and day/date automatic with a second timezone.

Sinn 105 St Sa and 105 St Sa W

Nomemclature notes: St stands for steel case, Sa denotes sapphire crystal. And W is for the version with the white dial, standard dial is black.

Key features:

  • Case made of stainless steel, bead-blasted
  • Captive multifunctional rotating bezel with minute ratcheting and Black Hard Coating on a TEGIMENT Technology basis
  • Second time zone on a 12-hour basis
  • Sapphire crystal on both sides
  • Waterproof and pressure-resistant to 20 bar
  • Low pressure resistant

These models combine uncompromising function and high-quality design in a whole new way. The timepieces boast an impressive combination of technical, sporty design and a diverse range of functions. It’s not only the reduced, contemporary look which wins over watch experts, but also the multifunctional rotating bezel, which has shown itself to be a versatile special feature. The advancing minute scale on it allows you to measure time. Or you can use the bidirectional rotating bezel with 12-hour scale to set up a second time zone, with, for example, the hour hand showing the reference time on the dial and the local time on the rotating bezel. The rotating bezel itself has a captive connection to the bead-blasted case. Its Black Hard Coating on a TEGIMENT Technology basis lends the watches a professional overall look.

Depending on your personal taste, you can choose between a matt black and matt white dial with accents in orange. The day of the week and date display can appear in English or German. And beyond high-precision time measurement, you can also observe the refinements of the mechanical movement in great detail through the
transparent case back made from sapphire crystal.

Sinn 105 St Sa UTC and 105 St Sa UTC W

The second model in the 105 line is the UTC model, with an additional hand for a second timezone.

  • Case made of stainless steel, bead-blasted
  • Captive rotating bezel with 24-hour ratcheting and Black Hard Coating on a TEGIMENT Technology basis
  • Second time zone on a 24-hour basis
  • Sapphire crystal on both sides
  • Waterproof and pressure-resistant to 20 bar
  • Low pressure resistant

A technical, sporty look complemented by a diverse range of functions: with these watches, we’ve managed to combine uncompromising function and high-quality design in a whole new way. It’s not only the reduced, contemporary form that wins over watch experts, but also the fact that the timepiece can be used as a versatile instrument.

Using the bidirectional rotating bezel with 24-hour ratcheting, you can set up a second time zone. As a result, adjusting the local time only takes a few seconds, without you having to adjust the orange UTC hand using the crown. Of course, you can also set the UTC hand in the conventional way using the crown and leave the rotating bezel in its initial position. The arrow-shaped UTC hand can also be used to roughly determine cardinal points, when the current position of the sun is visible. If you’re located in the northern hemisphere, position the dial horizontally and turn the watch so that the 12-hour hand (ignoring daylight savings time) points to the sun. The 24-hour hand then points to the north.

The rotating bezel itself has a captive connection to the bead-blasted case. Its Black Hard Coating on a TEGIMENT Technology basis lends the watches a professional overall look. You can choose between a matt black and a matt white dial with accents in orange. And take the time to have a closer look at all the details of the mechanical movement through the anti-reflective transparent case back made from sapphire crystal.

Sinn 103 Sa G – extension to the 103 with a limited edition in green

An extension to the traditional pilot chronograph line in green. Limited edition of 500 pieces. The new watch also feature a new movement – the Sinn C. 9901 which is a development in collaboration with Concepto. This is a new development for Sinn, who traditionally sources its movements from the Swatch Group, and their chronographs featuring the ubiquitious Valjoux 7750. In an interview with Lothar Schmidt, he revealed that he is diversifying the movement sources, so as not to be fully dependent on one party for the supply of all the movements needed for their watches. The watch case and bezel is produced in Sinn’s own facility in Glashütte – SUG, who is well known for high quality and high technicality watch cases.

  • Limited to 500 pieces
  • Case made of stainless steel, polished Shimmering metallic-green dial
  • Anodised pilot’s bezel in green Sapphire crystal glass
  • Transparent back made of sapphire crystal glass
  • Waterproof and pressure-resistant to 20 bar
  • Low pressure resistant

Lume shot.

The 103 Sa G is a traditional pilot chronograph with an extraordinary design. Its eye-catching features include the dial in shimmering metallic-green, the green bidirectional rotating pilot’s bezel in anodised aluminium and the day and date display, also in green. This colour scheme is applied consistently throughout, providing the timepiece with an aesthetic balance.

The green is highly textured, and is a shimmering metallic green hue which is rather fetching.

Another special feature is the high-quality crystal. Here we use a high-domed sapphire crystal glass with a profile similar to that of traditional acrylic glass. Using specially made grinding tools, the sapphire crystal glass is ground out of a solid blank approximately 5 mm thick with five different curvature radii and is then carefully polished. This complex process offers outstanding benefits, making the sapphire crystal glass highly resistant and maintaining the classic appearance without losing the functional character of the watch.

The 103 Sa G is limited to 500 pieces, which is documented by the ‘Eine von 500’ (‘One of 500’) engraving on the transparent back ring. This timepiece is, of course, resistant to low pressure and pressure-resistant to 20 bar. Available in a weathered leather strap with green stitching, in a khaki fabric strap, or a steel bracelet.

Sinn R500 racing chronograph

A new bull head style rally racing chronograph with automatic movement (Valjoux 7750), in a tough titanium case.

  • Limited to 300 pieces
  • Case made of high-strength titanium, satinised
  • Sapphire crystal glass
  • Stopwatch-inspired control element at the top of the case
  • Interior tachymeter scale to 500 km/h
  • Power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock
  • Waterproof and pressure-resistant to 20 bar
  • Low pressure resistant

A historical model returns: with the Model R500 limited to 300 pieces, we’re presenting a racing stopwatch with this extraordinary design in our range for the first time in many years. What sets this watch apart visually is the position of the crown at 12 o’clock and the push-pieces at 11 and 1 o’clock. Thanks to this arrangement, the Model R500 represents an analogy to the traditional stopwatch and motorsport. The tachymeter scale on the
interior bezel is used to measure speeds. With the power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, you can always see whether the timepiece is ready to go. The displays for hour, minute and subsidiary second and the stop functions for 12 hours, 30 minutes and 60 seconds are mounted in the centre for high-precision time measurement.

The unusual positions of the crown and push-pieces – also known as the “bullhead chronograph” due to the appearance of a bull’s head – requires an extremely demanding case construction. The dial slopes downwards from top to bottom and is thus angled towards the wearer, who can conveniently adjust the crown and push-pieces at the wrist.

The bullhead design is common for motor sports, especially for rallys where the pushers are in a good position for start/stop/reset. Also, many rally drivers wear a chronograph on each wrist, and the bull head design is perfectly symmetrical for right and left hand and eases the operations. Split Seconds chronographs are sometimes also used, but the complex dial and multi hand layout may sometimes be confusing under the high pressure racing environments.

The side profile of the R500 shows a sloped dial.

The case is 16mm thick at the crown/pusher side, and 13mm at the bottom. The strap attachment is also quite unique – the strap is a two piece leather strap which is punched for the rally visual effect, and attaches to the case bottom.

The satinised case itself is made of high-strength titanium (Grade 5), which underlines the technical and contemporary interpretation of the watch and ensures a comfortable fit. The R500 is equipped with a black cowhide strap with red seam integrated into the case. The recessed strap embossing pays homage to the hole pattern design so common in motorsport.
