The Zenith DEFY Skyline Big Date Flyback Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition retails at SGD 22,200 including GST. Limited Edition of 70 pieces.

Commentary

In the continuing narrative to celebrate their Platinum Jubilee aka it’s 70th Anniversary, Sincere partners with Zenith to release the new DEFY Skyline Big Date Flyback Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition. The DEFY Skyline was introduced in 2022, and is based on a geometrically structured dial with a pattern of four pointed stars – in an inspired reimagining of the Zenith “double Z” logo of the 1960s.

This novelty takes the design cues from the DEFY Skyline family. The distinctive dial is retained, with a bi-compax chronograph layout and a big date above 6 o’clock. The titanium case and bracelet is micro-blasted for a matte finish to complete the monochromatic tone on tone grey look which we find rather handsome.

The movement used is the El Primero 3652 which features a combination of a big date and flyback chronograph. Though this is the movement’s first outing in the DEFY Skyline collection, it is not new. The deep grey tones of titanium enhance the timepiece’s raw, monolithic presence, while the tachymeter scale on the flange ring seamlessly follows the contours of the dodecagonal bezel. The monochromatic design is completed by a sunburst-patterned, satin-finished dial in matching metallic grey, and adorned with an engraved starry sky pattern.
