Deployant’s Commentary & Analysis

This is a line extension to the rather extensive Patrial collection. We have covered several since 2019, 2022 and 2023. Our first review of the Admiral Blue in 2019 provides the detailed background to this model. The titanium case is not new as Tutima has Reference 6612-01: Anthracite dial with black calfskin strap, Reference 6612-03: Graphite-gray dial with gray sheepskin strap, Reference 6612-05: Silver-white dial with light brown sheepskin strap in their collection.

This novelty is the same watch. The appearance on the dial side is very attractive. The silver stamped guilloché surface with the solid gold indices and HMS hands are a nice contrast, providing some warmth and a touch of elegance to the otherwise laid back dial.

The movement is unchanged from the rather beautifully designed and finished C.617. The movement is gilt finished, and is the same one used all along. The caliber 671 can be seen as a stripped down caliber 800, which was designed, developed and made in-house by Master Watchmaker Rolf Lang, who is the father of Marco Lang, formerly of Lang & Heyne, and running his own brand.

Visually, the Patria still looks stunning. However it now feels a dated with the large 41mm case, when most other brands are offering cases in smaller 38-40mm cases for dressy watches.

Pricing notes

Pricing has increased rather massively since 2019. But this is applied across the line. For example, the Patria Admiral Blue in steel has increased from below EUR 5k in 2019 to EUR 8k in 2025. This new titanium model now list at an even higher EUR 9.4k. The only major difference is the case has changed the use of gold hands and indices in the new model. Gold hands are not unusual but need to be very light, thus thin. The amount of gold is tiny, typically 10 to 50 milligrams. Same for indices. This will not explain the pricing premium.

In our view, the watch is very attractive, but the pricing is quite high.

The Official Press Release

Two exceptional materials and one storied origin: with a new two-tone variant, Tutima Glashütte lends the Patria manufacture line a well-balanced combination of lightness and luster.

The Patria derives its distinctive character from the sophisticated interplay of two metals that could hardly be more different. One is lightweight, resilient and highly functional. The other isprecious, rich in character and the very embodiment of enduring value. The case, crafted from high-polished Grade 5 titanium, is paired with hands made of solid 18-karat gold.

Just like the Tutima 617 in-house movement that sets them in motion, the hands are meticulouslycrafted in the Glashütte atelier. Their surfaces are polished by hand, the edges beveled and satin-finished.

Further touches of warmth emerge on the silver-white dial, whose hue shifts with the light, asthe diamond-cut indices and the brand emblem are rendered in a subtle gold tone. The small seconds subdial, featuring a circular grooved pattern and a delicate gold-toned frame, integrates harmoniously into the well-proportioned design.

A Glashütte Masterpiece

The full brilliance of the Glashütte watchmaking traditionreveals itself through the sapphire crystal on the caseback: a three-quarter plate with Glashütte ribbing, ruby bearings set in gold chatons, and hand-beveled edges spans much of the manual-winding in-house caliber Tutima 617. The ratchet and crown wheels feature sunburst finishes, while the finely engineered recoiling click mechanism is fitted with an elegantly curved steel spring.

The open-worked balance cock provides an unobstructed view of the in-house free-sprung oscillation system. The bending of the Breguet overcoil takes place by hand in the atelier, as does the regulation of the screw balance, before it delivers the heartbeat of the Patria at 21,600 vibrations per hour.

The warm aesthetic extends to the meticulously finished cognac-colored sheepskin leather strap, whose hand-stitched seam subtly echoes the gold accents of the hands and indices. Its fine tanning and supple feel, combined with the skin-friendly properties of the titanium case and the ergonomically shaped lugs, ensure exceptional wearing comfort on the wrist.

Technical modernity and golden glow in perfect harmony: the new two-tone variant of the Patria.
