New: Trilobe Une Folle Journée

Commentary
The three novelties are line extensions to the Une Folle Journée collection. The collection name translate to “a crazy day” from French. And is a part of Trilobe’s core collection. This adds to the existing models in titanium and a rose gold version. This time, the case is still in titanium, but the movement bridges are rhodium plated. This provides a very bright and light canvas to showcase the triple rings which indicate the time. The earlier models in titanium had a darkened bridge, is available in Black, Blue and Dune (a warm, pale grey). The Dune colourway is also featured in the rose gold mode.
The key innovation is Trilobe’s movement design. The use of three off-centered rotating rings is the signature of the X-Centric³ movement. The dial is open worked to show the movement within.
The large domed sapphire crystal covering the three rings which are not only off-center pivoted, but also stacked one above the other to create a very 3 dimensional effect.
The movement is the X-Centric³ , which Trilobe says is designed exclusively for them. We have not come across any other movement and are not able to even hazard a guess as to who is the designer and constructor of the movement.
The retail price is unchanged from the other Une Folle Journée titanium models.

T H R E E R I N G S DEFYING GRAVITY
The hours, minutes, and seconds rise 10.2 mm in height, supported by an aerial architecture. A perfect balance, a suspended mechanism.
Each ring is a technical challenge. A titanium cornice, hollowed and polished, holds an inner curved and satin-finished ring. Made from titanium-aluminum-vanadium, this assembly requires extreme precision.
It is light, yet difficult to shape and delicate to polish. However, once completed, it reveals an exceptional finish.
Nine columns ensure the stability of the three perpetually rotating rings. A minimalist pointer allows for immediate time reading.
At the top, a sapphire dome fused by flame, manufactured in Japan, smoothened and polished in Switzerland. A glass of absolute transparency and unparalleled resistance.

MOVEMENT AND HALLMARK OF THE BRAND
The dial, open for the first time, offers a view on a technical motor assembly with 196 custom-made components and enables to savour the watchmaking craftsmanship of an exceptional calibre.
These editions are equipped with the X-Centric calibre, an automatic movement designed and developed exclusively by Trilobe. Integrated into the X-Centric calibre, the 6.49 mm thick micro-rotor movement combines finesse and technical performance.
Entirely revisited for the collection Une Folle Journée, the X-Centric calibre is taking shape around multi-tiered bridges and plates, whose sharp edges have been carefully polished by hand or with diamond tools to emphasize the microblasted treatment performed on their plane surfaces.
