Commentary
The Sinn 1739 Römerberg is a thoughtfully designed timepiece that pays tribute to Frankfurt’s historic architecture. Its deep red sunburst dial reflects the red Main sandstone of the Haus zum Goldenen Rad, a building recognized for its restoration efforts. While visually striking, the polished stainless steel case and understated appliques maintain an elegant simplicity. The exhibition case back, featuring an engraving of the Frankfurt Römer, reinforces the watch’s connection to the city’s heritage.

Functionally, the 1739 Römerberg is reliable, with 10-bar water resistance and a versatile strap system that includes Alcantara and calfskin leather options. While Sinn excels at combining history and engineering, the exclusivity of this model makes it more of a niche choice for those who appreciate its backstory rather than a broadly appealing everyday timepiece.

Press release
Since 2015, our company has been represented with the SINN Römerberg Branch at the prestigious Rathausplatz in Frankfurt’s historic old town. Over the past ten years, this location in the heritage-listed “Haus zum Goldenen Rad” has become a popular destination for our customers – and a striking showcase with a view of the Römer, Frankfurt’s city hall.

To mark the 10th anniversary, we are presenting the 1739 Römerberg – a special edition limited to 100 pieces. An impressive statement of exclusivity and timeless beauty, this watch features a dial in radiant crimson red. The color was carefully chosen: it reflects the elaborately restored façade of the “Haus zum Goldenen Rad,” made from red Main sandstone – a traditional and characteristic building material of the Rhine-Main region.

The building’s outstanding restoration has received multiple awards: in 2018, the Frankfurt City Monuments Committee named it “Monument of the Year”; in 2024, it received the Hessian Monument Preservation Award in the category “Living in a Monument.”

The selected dial color is a rich and refined shade of red that lends the watch a distinguished character – further accentuated by the sunburst finish.

This timepiece exudes classic elegance. A sapphire crystal case back reveals the finely decorated movement, featuring a special engraving on the rotor – the silhouette of the Frankfurt Römer. A detail that masterfully combines tradition and modernity.
Hand-applied appliques add subtle highlights and emphasize the distinctive character of this edition. Thanks to its mechanical robustness – the watch is water-resistant, pressure-resistant and resistant to low pressure – the 1739 Römerberg is the perfect companion for both special occasions and everyday moments.
