Singer Reimagined introduces a new version of their Track 1 for Monterey Car Week 2021. A personalizable watch available by commission to only owners of the Singer reworked Porsche 911.

We covered the Singer Track 1 in various incarnations before. Please see the following for earlier iterations:

Each of these chronographs were released by Singer, and all utilize the amazing chronograph movement made by Agenhor – the Agengraphe. This movement is the basis of all the Track 1 releases, just like the Porsche 911 is the basis for all the Singer automobile rebuilds. And for this 2021’s Monterey Car Week, a new, customizable design is offered to only owners of the Singer reworked cars, with detailing like the car VIN number engraved on the watch.
Interesting detail, and perhaps Singer know their clients best, but to us, it seem a bit odd that this new release automatically disqualify other potential clients who don’t own a Singer reworked Porsche 911.
We have seen the Singer handwork on the cars. The immediate impression on first encounter with the reworked Porsches is one of awe and perhaps shock. The attention to detail is truly amazing, and the hand craftsmanship at a top top level. Automotive art. To our minds, the luxury level of a Rolls Royce comes to mind, but do bear in mind that we will be the first to admit we are no car experts, much less of vintage Porsches.
The Track 1 DLS Edition is almost exactly the same as the other Track 1 Editions, other than this limited offer to the Singer Porsche owners. We understand that customization will start off from the basic configuration of the Agengraphe movement, the standard case shape of the Track 1 in titanium, with options to select the tachymeter ring, lume colour of the indices and hands to follow in the same palette as that of the car. The basic schema is to match the own colours and trim specifications. Perhaps this may be the first time such a parallel customization is offered for a car and watch combination, and might be an interesting pairing.
Pricing is not released with the information we received. But as the car may cost upwards of CHF 400k, it may not be the first thing on the minds of those who qualify to buy one of these watches.
Singer Track 1 – DLS Edition
Back in 2018, Singer Vehicle Design presented the results of the Dynamics and Lightweighting Study for
the first time. DLS would explore the ultra-high performance potential of the Porsche Type 964 911, enabling a limited number of clients to restore their cars.
A very special Track 1 DLS may now be commissioned to accompany the Dynamics and Lightweighting Study restorations. Only owners of DLS restorations will be able to purchase and personalize the Track 1 – DLS Edition chronograph.
The Singer Track 1 – DLS Edition has been conceived to embody the lightweight and performance-driven philosophy behind the Dynamic and Lightweighting Study.
The unique, forged carbon watch case was engineered with the intent of reducing mass. A new, open-work design has been conceived to further emphasize lightness and to echo the signature air-intakes developed during the Dynamics and Lightweighting Study.
ALL Grade 5 Titanium components – bezel, pushbuttons, winding crown and back-case – mirror polished by hand, can be finished in a variety of diamond-like carbon (DLC) shades to match trims and details of each DLS restoration.
The exclusive DLS dial design, in brushed anthracite finishing, features applied luminescent indexes.
Personalizable elements – the flange, luminescent indexes color, luminescent hour & minute arrows – may further accentuate the connection between the watch and its related car.
Each car restored using the results of the Dynamics and Lightweighting Study is unique. In the same way, each DLS Edition chronograph will be a unique, bespoke execution. The design of every watch will be finalised to match the owner’s car’s specifications, colours and trim. The Track 1 – DLS Edition is presented with a lightweight, technical textile strap and complimentary bespoke leather band – handmade using leather matched to each DLS restoration.
Each watch is further connected to its related car with the commission name and VIN number 8 engraved on the caseback.
