Commentary
The PADI relationship with Seiko has been an ongoing one for many years. We have covered the 2016 release of a special edition in two flavours with the pre-Baselworld release as well as a hands-on review. And again as a release with the Prospex Monster line in 2020.
This year, the collab is released with the Prospex Diver collection. The essential speciality of this release is the colour of the dial and ceramic bezel with its red accents. The red and blue bezel, a.k.a Pepsi, is now all blue. With the red accents, it echos the logo released by PADI fo their anniversary. And the movement has remained the 4R36 since the 2016 release.
I managed to see and feel the watch today at a local Seiko event, and the watch feels every bit the tool like diver watch it is touted to be. The availability is in July 2026.
Pricing has steadily increased, even with our comparison of two previous price points. The 2016 pricing is EUR 429, rising in 2020 to EUR 530 and now EUR 750. Par for the course? Perhaps. You decide if you feel it is worth it.

A dial inspired by PADI’s 60th anniversary logo
The design pays homage to the shared passion for underwater exploration and deep respect for the ocean that unites members of the diving community all around the world. Inspired by the colors of PADI’s 60th anniversary logo, the watch features a striking blue dial and is accented with touches of red at the 6 o’clock position and on the seconds hand. A globe motif derived from the logo stretches across the entire dial. On the unidirectionally rotating bezel, a ceramic insert ensures exceptional scratch resistance while its vivid blue hue enhances the dial design.
A design long trusted by divers
The watch’s case features the iconic form of one of Seiko’s most famous diver’s watch designs. Characterized by its smooth, flowing silhouette and 4 o’clock crown position, it is a design beloved by generations of divers.
In addition to a robust stainless steel bracelet, the watch also comes with a strap made of high-strength silicone, printed with the words “Professional Association of Diving Instructors.” With its accordion design, the strap ensures comfort both when worn over a wetsuit and directly on the wrist.
The new diver’s watch will be available from July 2026 as a limited edition of 8,000 at the Seiko Boutiques and select retail partners worldwide.
