The Ressence Type 1 Round Rose Gold has a retail price of CHF 18,150 excluding taxes. Limited Edition of 70 pieces and will be available from 19 November 2025 via Ressence’s select retailers worldwide and e-shop.
Commentary
This latest addition from Ressence is released for Dubai Watch Week 2025, and returns to the sand/rose gold/copper tone dial first seen in their Type 1 DXB released in 2019. We had an intimate hands-on afternoon with the square cased watch then with this comprehensive review. This time, for 2025, Benôit returns with the same colour scheme, but now on the Round Type 1 case.
The dial is subtly different and is described by Ressence as rose gold with soft copper luminescent. We agree with this descriptive language.
The watch is the standard Type 1 Round, which is often seen as Ressence’s entry level model. At just a tad above CHF 18k, it is an interesting proposition to those with budgets below CHF 30k.
As a side note, we find the visuals provided by Ressence of the novelty in various lifestyle settings to be very interesting. The watch is seen in juxtaposition with wear cases which are, shall we say, not the usual. But very refreshing.

“The TYPE 1 has always been about making complexity feel intuitive,” adds Mintiens of a design that replaces traditional watch hands with rotating discs.
On the TYPE 1 Round Rose Gold, the convex dial’s 4N rose-gold plating creates a warm luminescence that enhances the watch’s organic character. Three flush, inclined discs display hours, seconds, and day of the week, with engraved indications filled with Grade A Super-LumiNova®. At the heart of the design lies Ressence’s cutting-edge and patented ROCS 1.3 (Ressence Orbital Convex System) module, driven by the minute axle of a customised 2892 base calibre, featuring revolving discs that display time in a bi-dimensional layout.
A Palette of Warmth and Contrast
The rose-gold plating provides the dial with a soft, copper-toned luminescence. Cool silver subdials create visual clarity, while white minute markers ensure legibility.
A light grey suede strap completes the composition, lightening the overall aesthetic and allowing the dial’s warmth to command attention.
