Roger Dubuis continues the collaboration series with a new automotive watch. After the August release of the Excalibur Spider, a collaboration with the tyre maker Pirelli, Roger Dubuis comes with two new models Excalibur Aventador S. The wristwatches come with a new calibre inspired by Lamborghini’s Aventador S engine. The Italian wild soul and precise Swiss beat united in two spectaculars haute horlogerie models.

On 20th September 2017, Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini Squadra Corse revealed at the legendary Lamborghini Headquarters in Sant’Agata, Bolognese the world premiere of the Excalibur Aventador S. The collaboration comes with the announcement of Roger Dubuis as one of the main sponsors of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo: the legendary Lamborghini one-make series.

A timepiece designed to ring emotions: the Excalibur Aventador S promises performance and pleasure.
A wild beast is also prepared for the race: the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO. This auto motorsport achievement is derived from the road version just as Excalibur derives from an extraordinary collection. Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S’s outrageous spirits fit perfectly with the daring Italian supercar.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S follows the design of Huracán’s engine. Moreover, new technologies are used for manufacturing this limited series. There are two models in a limited series of 88 in yellow and, respectively, 8 pieces in orange.
The yellow variant features a 45mm case built in a multilayer carbon with a titanium container and over-moulded yellow rubber. The skeletonizing of the Excalibur Spider case brings a super sport and super light design. The bezel is built from fluted multi-layer carbon and encases a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment and a daring yellow metallisation. The crown is made of black DLC titanium on which yellow rubber was over-moulded.

The dial, as per se, is almost inexistent. The chapter ring is skeletonised and rhodium plated with a black and yellow flange. As hours’ markers, rhodium plated indexes filled with white luminous SLN are used. The dazzling low light appearance is enriched by the black PVD 18K Gold hours and minutes hands with yellow transfer and white luminous SLN tips. The watch’s face is mesmerizing.
The second variant, with orange decoration, features multi-layered carbon and C-SMC carbon, based on the same technology as the one used for Lamborghini cars. The dial uses the same innovative material as the case – C-SMC carbon. The orange version is more complicated from the manufacturing point of view and is limited to only 8 pieces.

Both cases have a thickness of 14.05mm and 50 meters (50bar) water resistance. The case is well proportioned and promises not only a fantastic wrist look but also a comfortable wear.
The watches are powered by the splendid calibre RD103SQ. The movement features Poinçon de Genève, the ultimate standard of the excellence of finishes. The most visible decoration is the outstanding perlage found almost overall. Of course, the skeletonizing and anglage are impeccably realized. The Geneva seal is well deserved for the refinement of the execution.
The RD103SQ calibre features an eye-catching double sprung balances design. The 57,600vph (2x4Hz) handle 40 hours of power reserve. Catching the principles of the sports car, the Duotor calibre is notably distinguished by engine strut bars, as if the engine ‘hood’ were transparent. Viewed from the back side, the movement embodies a splendid arachnoid form.
The calibre RD103SQ offers exceptional finishes awarded with Poinçon de Genève. Moreover, the movement design is shaped in an arachnoid form. A precios spider kept behind the sapphire crystal.
Notable, besides the magnificent work of haute horlogerie, is the jumping seconds complication accompanied by a power reserve indication.
