Commentary
The PAM01756 is built around its bracelet. The integrated metal bracelet is new to the Submersible collection, and the Quick Length Adjustment system, which adds 2mm of extension per side, addresses the practical reality of wearing a dive watch over a wetsuit or through temperature-driven wrist changes. The bracelet links alternate polished and brushed finishes and draw visual reference from the crown protecting bridge. At 204g, it is a substantial watch on the wrist.

The P.980 here (variant P980/7) shares its architecture with the PAM01738 Navy SEALs — stop-second, 3-day power reserve, 6-position testing — with 169 components versus 177 in that model. The black sun-brushed dial runs no date, which suits a diving instrument and keeps the dial clean. The blue polished ceramic bezel disc is a different proposition from the matte black disc on the Navy SEALs, giving the PAM01756 a more wearable, less tactical character.

Release Details
The Panerai Submersible PAM01756 introduces a significant enhancement to the 44mm Submersible collection with its new metal bracelet. The watch combines robust diving capabilities with refined aesthetics, featuring the reliable P.980 automatic calibre, a black sun-brushed dial, and a steel bezel with a blue polished ceramic disc.

Panerai’s metal bracelets, first introduced in 1999, have undergone continuous development. For the first time in the Submersible collection, the PAM01756 features the Quick Length Adjustment system, which extends the bracelet by 2mm on each side. This accommodates wrist size fluctuations from temperature or activity.

The unidirectional rotating bezel is fitted with a blue polished ceramic disc, offering superior scratch resistance. Water resistance is rated to 50 bar (~500 metres), tested at 25% beyond the stated depth. The black sun-brushed dial creates dynamic light play, with white Super-LumiNova filled indices and small seconds at 9 o’clock. The no-date configuration keeps the dial clean.

The P.980 automatic calibre features a transversal balance bridge and stop-seconds function for accurate time setting. The crown protecting bridge, Panerai’s patented lever-activated mechanism that safeguards the winding crown, is also a visual reference for the bracelet’s link design. Its brushed and polished finishes create a three-dimensional effect across the bracelet.
