Omega releases yet another reinterpretation of their ultra popular Speedmaster Moonwatch with two new references with a black and white reverse panda dial.

New: Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch in Black and White Reverse Panda

Commentary
Yet another variant to the Moonwatch. It seems that Omega perhaps will never end in creating more ad more versions. This time, a reverse panda black and white dial. The original Moonwatch had an all black dial. Then came other versions, and in the current catalog carries the all black and all white dials.
Two references are released. One in a rather more price approachable stainless steel model, and the other is a solid gold version in 18k Moonshine Gold. Both are exactly the same as existing versions with different dials. Both novelties are specified with sapphire glass crystals, and not the more original (moon landing) but less expensive Hesallite option available for the other variants. Both also carry a black ceramic bezel.
The reverse panda configuration is not new to the Moonwatch. The first Speedy Tuesday Moonwatch featured the reverse panda but with the C.1861 movement. Also, in the panda configuration, Omega has released several others, including the 2004 Apollo XI 35th Anniversary (ref. 3569.31.00) and one of the many in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Collection (ref. 522.30.42.30.04.001).
Both novelties carry the Caliber 3861, co-axial master chronometer, a descendant evolved from the Caliber 321 used in NASA for the moon landings. The Caliber 3861 is the updated version of caliber 861 / 1861. It features a co-axial escapement and a silicon balance spring and is Master Chronometer certified by METAS.
Pricing wise, the new model sets yet another new level for the Moonwatch. It represents a premium of some 15% over the existing similarly speced models with all black (SGD 11.6k) or all white (SGD 11.75k) models.

OMEGA opens 2026 with two new Speedmaster Moonwatch timepieces, each reinterpreting the classic chronograph look with an inverted dial configuration.
The new models are crafted with the Moonwatch’s essential step dial, which is put together with a double plate. The top plate is polished black, with a varnished and lacquered finish for superior sheen, and includes rhodium-plated subdial frames. Meanwhile, the base layer for the subdials is produced in white, also with a varnished and lacquered finish. The minute track is transferred in white on the main dial, while the subdials feature minute tracks transferred in black. A detail consistent across both versions that enhances the reversed aesthetic and legibility.
In combination with the black and white dial, the new watches include black ceramic bezel rings filled with a tachymeter scale in white enamel. The front features a box-form scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment. Around the wrist, the watches are distinguished by their polished-brushed bracelets, created in the standard Moonwatch style with OMEGA’s patented comfort release adjustment system.
The two 42 mm choices within the range include:
- A version in stainless steel. All the hands and hour markers are rhodium-plated with white Super-LumiNova.
- A version in 18K Moonshine™ Gold, OMEGA’s own long-lasting yellow gold alloy. The dial includes hour-minute hands, subdial hands, and hour markers all in 18K Moonshine™ Gold with white Super-LumiNova, as well as a central chronograph hand in PVD Moonshine™ Gold.
These Speedmaster Moonwatch professional timepieces are each powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 – the most advanced evolution of the famous Calibre 321 that NASA astronauts trusted on the Moon.
