Commentary

Luminox’s 3500 series is a very rugged collection, mainly targetted to the military applications and known for their association with the US Navy SEALs as equipment Authorized for Navy Use (ANU). We covered the early 3500 in 2017, and also later iterations in 2018. Interestingly, they chose this model to launch their partnership with Red Bull Ampol Racing.

The base 3500 watch in Carbonox, now comes elaborated in a blue bezel and blue dial. On the dial, which features high visibility but with most real estate occupied by the huge arabic numerals for the hour markers.

The Luminox logo is also large and looms in place of the 12. And in place of the 6 marker, the Red Bull Ampol Racing logo is emblazoned. The usual LLT tubes are used for high lume applied as 4 minute markers on the minute track on the raised rehaut. The bezel is unidirectional, common for diving, but not usual in a racing watch.

Retail price is just about SGD 1k, and with the Rhonda quartz movement is probably competitive, especially in the tough packaging.
