New: Louis Erard 2300 Sport Chronograph
All three novelties of the 2300 Chronograph will retail at CHF 3,333 each. Price is excluding taxes. Each of the three viz Rainbow, Blue and Khaki is limited to 99 pieces.
Commentary
Interesting update to their 2300 chronograph collection, which we don’t think has been updated since Manuel Emch took over in 2019. This novelty release is three new references: the Khaki with a two tone khaki dial, the Blue with a two tone blue dial, and the Rainbow with a black dial. All sub-dials are silver, except for continuous seconds sub-counter at 9 o’clock being rendered in the same colour as the main dial, essentially making it disappear safe for the markings and ticking of the small hand, allowing the native tri-compax dial layout of the Valjoux 7750 movement look like the watch is a bi-compax.
Each accented with colours in the space between the minute markers. This is either orange, blue or rainbow colours for the Khaki, Blue and Rainbow respectively.
The colour coding continues to the first 5 minutes of the minute totaliser at 12 o’clock, with the Khaki showing a sector in orange, the Blue a sector in grey and Rainbow showing no differentiation for the entire sub-dial in silver. The chronograph hand also takes this colour code with orange, yellow and white being chosen.
Of course the colour coordinated strap completes the picture. The hands and hour markers are in-filled with Superluminova for legibility in the dark.
We must admit the watches look amazing in the photographs. Even the movement looks nicely customised, though as expected at this price point lacks haute horlogerie finissage. For a tri-compax chronograph equipped the Valjoux 7750 is rather good value for the money. Though we often refer to the 7750 as ubiquitous, the movement is not as common these days, being usually found in the more expensive chronographs.
If we had to pick one, the Blue takes our breath away, though the Khaki is very attractive as well. The Rainbow is a bit too colourful for us. Which one do you like?

2300 SPORT CHRONOGRAPH
Still a tricompax chrono, though it visually plays like a bicompax. Featuring a 44mm titanium Grade 5 case, a black ceramic bezel, a sapphire glassbox, the Valjoux 7750 movement, FKM rubber straps and a unique titanium clasp system inspired by freeride bindings enabling accurate adjustments.
This trilogy is all about standout display and readability, putting the counters front and center : 12H at 6H and 30M at 12H. With white highlights, these chrono counters pop in a vertival alignment – a signature LOUIS ERARD style. The sleek black version shine with a rainbow gradient minutes track, the zesty khaki-orange and the light blue-yellow versions feature vibrant tones running from the strap to the minutes and hours counter hands to the minutes track, emphasizing the first 5 minutes of the chronograph.
