New: Laurent Ferrier Square Micro-Rotor Evergreen / Classic Micro-Rotor Evergreen

The new Laurent Ferrier Square Micro-Rotor Evergreen in a stainless steel case has a retail price of SGD 77,980 (pin buckle) and the Classic Micro-Rotor Evergreen in a red gold case will retail at SGD 94,400 (pin buckle). Both inclusive of GST.

Just two new dial colours, folks. Nothing else is new. The Square Micro-Rotor, introduced in 2015 as the Galet Square will be available with the green dial in a stainless steel case.

The new Square Micro-Rotor with Evergreen dial. The case is mildly reminiscent of a Panerai Luminor case without the crown guard.

And the new Classic Micro-Rotor, was introduced in 2012 as the Galet Micro Rotor is presented with the dial in a rose gold round case. Both have the same textured green dial which they dub as Evergreen.

We looked at the watch when we were in the Carre Horlogers at Watches & Wonders recently, and the dial is quite beautiful. A fitting tribute to the beautiful Laurent Ferrier caliber FBN 229.01 fitted on both models.

Both are as elegant as ever – the norm for Laurent Ferrier. Finishing is excellent and up to the levels appropriate for haute horlogerie.

Release details

Laurent Ferrier has always been committed to creating timepieces that are both modern yet timeless, with a seductive combination of technical prowess, functionality, and aesthetic purity.

Now, LAURENT FERRIER launches its contemporary vision of elegance and sophistication with two new versions of its Micro-Rotor model: the Square Micro-Rotor Evergreen and the Classic Micro-Rotor Evergreen.

The term ‘Evergreen’ combines timeless character with the associations of the colour green: a shade deeply connected with nature, growth and renewal. Embodying these principles, once again, the latest interpretations of the Micro-Rotor evoke this enduring elegance, while the new dial’s deep green brings a sense of harmony.

The timepiece is available in two different iterations. The first boasts a cushion-shaped Square stainless steel case combined with a delicate deep green dial, with a vertical satin-brushed finish. The second features the same green dial with its refined finishes, nestled in an 18-carat gold Classic round case. Optimal legibility is guaranteed by the indices, in 18-carat white gold and red gold respectively.

Resolutely modern, these timepieces are the embodiment of ageless elegance, and are suitable for everyday wear as well as more formal occasions.

The LAURENT FERRIER signature can be found in the tapered profile of both cases.

The Classic case is round, made out of 18-carat red gold with a diameter of 40mm. Inspired by the elegant, understated pocket watches of the 19th century, it boasts LAURENT FERRIER’S refined aesthetic codes.

Another of Maison’s icons is the Square case, measuring 41mm x 41mm, which provides a more assertive presence on the wrist compared to the Classic model. With its aerodynamic curves, symmetry and elaborate lines, it exudes sophistication.

Both cases feature a ball-shaped winding crown, allowing for smooth handling. The meticulous design, all the way to the hooked case back topped with sapphire crystal, allows the wearer to admire the movement in all its beauty without distraction. Ingeniously, only the LF watchmakers are able to access the calibre via the olivette, located at the bottom of the back bezel. Both the Square and the Classic cases are water resistant up to 30 metres.

These two unique timepieces harmoniously combine the traditional principles of watchmaking with the latest technical advances. Each is equipped with the FBN 229.01 calibre, a LAURENT FERRIER signature. This self-winding movement is equipped with a micro-rotor with natural escapement, a technical innovation that has been particularly well-received by enthusiasts. Characterised by a unidirectional ratchet-type micro-rotor, it boasts a three-day power reserve.

This exclusive LAURENT FERRIER movement was designed, assembled and adjusted in the LF workshops. It is equipped with a silicon escapement with a double direct impulse to the balance wheel: an innovation that allows the balance to be restarted twice per oscillation, requiring two escapement wheels and a pallet-lever with adjusted geometry. The combination of this modern composition with the use of cutting-edge materials maximises energy efficiency. In turn, this escapement’s excellent efficiency ensures a high amplitude balance wheel. Since less mechanical force is needed for winding the barrel spring, the movement’s winding mechanism is optimised.

Once again, LAURENT FERRIER demonstrates its ability to create exceptional, meticulously crafted, timeless pieces with the purest of aesthetics.
