New: Laco goes midsized with their sporty Scorpions

Retail price for the new Laco Scorpions is EUR 930 with rubber strap and EUR 980 in metal bracelet.

Commentary

The 39mm stainless steel case size is new for Laco, the Scorpions are intended for sports and active lifestyle and feature a water resistance of 300m. The watch features double domed sapphire crystal with inside anti reflection coating, and a stainless steel screw down case with a scorpion in relief engraving. As a diving watch, the bezel is unidirectional rotating and features a ceramic insert. The dial is black for all models, with colour coded accents for each of the 4 variants. All the dials are black with arabic numerals, with the four cardinal points 3/6/9 as bars and the 12 as double bars. The indices carry lume.

The movement is the Laco 200, which is a derived from the Sellita SW200 Elaboré level. This is a rather standard movement in the industry, and the Elaboré designation somply means that it leaves the Sellita factory in a higher specified finishing than the standard.

Each of the models – Himalaya (grey accents), Mojave (orange accents), Atlantik (blue accents) and Amazonas (green accents) can be supplied with either a NATO style fabric strap, a corrugated rubber strap or in a stainless steel three link bracelet.

Pricing is a very modest level below EUR 1k for any of the strap options or colour options. And should make the Laco Scorpions a popular option in the entry level sports/tool watch market space.

Laco presents new midsize sport watches for narrower wrists

Pforzheim, October 2022 – Ready for new adventures: Laco is expanding its product family of squad and sport watches with attractive model variants with a reduced case diameter of 39 millimeters. Thanks to the new midsize format, the watches can now be worn perfectly by sporty adventurers and lovers of versatile, changing looks with narrower wrists.

With these watches, which will be available in a total of four colors with different strap variants, Laco is responding to the request frequently expressed by customers for a smaller size, in addition to the existing 42 mm models. In addition, the new timepieces adopt the sporty look, technical details, as well as the names of the already known “Scorpions”: Himalaya, Mojave, Amazonas and Atlantik.

Robust & agile – always a strong appearance

The new models are again dedicated to the scorpion, whose relief adorns the caseback. Like the nocturnal animal, they are robust, adaptable and luminous despite their small size. Even off the beaten track, they convince as true “explorer watches” with their taker qualities. When it comes to robustness and functionality, Laco leaves nothing to chance. The black dial with Arabic numerals in white provides the best contrasts. The differentiation and dynamics are given to the timepieces via their eye-catching color accents. Both the unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel, as well as the indexes and the minute hand are covered with the luminous material Superluminova in white, green, blue or orange. The long-lasting afterglow effect ensures best readability even at dusk or in the dark.

New size – proven quality

In combination with the screw-down caseback, the double-domed and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, as well as the screw-down crown, the robust case withstands a pressure of 30 ATM. Underneath the striking caseback relief ticks the automatic movement “Laco 200”, which is based on the reliable Swiss caliber Sellita SW200. For use in and around water, Laco offers robust rubber straps and metal bracelets that provide maximum wearing comfort and can give the watches a completely new look. But the character remains: sporty, dynamic, versatile!
