The Kross Studio MT1 Chronomètre Tourbillon 7 Jours carries a retail price of CHF 68,000.

Commentary

Kross Studio participated in the main Watches & Wonders show in PalExpo, but given the sheer number of meetings, photo and video shoots we had to complete during our 4 days in Geneva, we were not able to cover them. As a result, we do not have live photographs of the watch, nor were we able to publish our Live from WWG article from the PalExpo floor. Here is the next best thing: our impressions from the press release.

The maison has been around since 2020 under Kross Studio, but it has been focusing on collaborations and collector sets, this collection offers exclusive creations in extremely limited series. This is the first model which is claimed to be manufactured in-house.

We have not seen the watch, but from the description looks interesting as the tourbillon runs with a power reserve of 7 days (not usual), and COSC certified as a chronometer (also not usual). The dial side shows a high level of skeletonisation, but legibility is maintained by choosing a contrasing gold coloured hands against light grey skeletonised background.

The case also looks interesting as it features no lugs, and looks like a single piece construction from titanium with rounded sides which extend to form both the front and rear bezels.

Pricing wise, it is offered at CHF 68k, which is fairly middle of the ground for a small scale, independently manufactured tourbillon.

Release information

The first model in the signature collection of its founder, Marco Tedeschi

Entirely manufactured in-house at Kross Studio, this exceptional creation embodies horological excellence. At its heart beats the new KS 7010 MT caliber, an open worked movement featuring a tourbillon positioned at 6 o’clock and certified as a chronometer by the COSC. It delivers an impressive 7-day power reserve. Its streamlined 44mm case, free of lugs and visible crown, adopts a contemporary design that highlights both the aesthetic and mechanical beauty of the movement.

Engineering Excellence

At the heart of the MT1 lies a pursuit of horological sophistication. For Marco Tedeschi, this timepiece had to incorporate his signature complication—the tourbillon—while combining an impressive power reserve and certified precision, all within a streamlined construction. Every detail faithfully embodies the vision and essence of its creator.

The MT1: Chronomètre Tourbillon 7 Jours is powered by the new KS 7010 MT caliber, entirely designed, manufactured, decorated, and assembled in-house at Kross Studio. This movement features a flying tourbillon positioned at 6 o’clock, oscillating at a frequency of 3 Hz. Certified by the COSC, it guarantees chronometric precision. The skeletonized architecture reveals the complexity of the movement and reinforces its resolutely horological and mechanical character.

True to the philosophy behind all Kross Studio calibers, the KS 7010 MT showcases innovative architecture. Once the tourbillon cage is positioned, the oversized barrel occupies the maximum available space on the main plate, extending beyond its radius and dispensing with a central pinion. This allows for an outstanding 7-day power reserve, all housed within a compact 44mm case.

Mechanical Sophistication and Visual Serenity

On the dial side, the skeletonized architecture of the movement is elevated by meticulously hand-chamfered bridges and the refined combination of materials and finishes applied to the moving components.
In contrast, the caseback reveals a clean, calming aesthetic inspired by Japanese gardens. The barrel bridge is adorned with an exclusive decorative motif named “Raindrop,” mimicking the ripples formed by a droplet falling onto a perfectly still water surface. It is a perfect illustration of Kross Studio’s expertise and the creativity of its founder, Marco Tedeschi, who reinterprets traditional watchmaking artistry with a contemporary touch.
This play of contrasts—between mechanical sophistication and visual serenity—gives the MT1: Chronomètre Tourbillon 7 Jours its truly unique identity.

Innovative Finishes and Materials

The case is crafted from Grade 5 ELI (Extra Low Interstitials) titanium, a highly purified version of Grade 5 titanium. Its reduced levels of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and iron ensure enhanced biocompatibility. It features an elegant circular satin finish, subtly contrasted by polished chamfers that highlight its refined character.
The main plate and bridges are made of lead-free German silver. Their surfaces combine satin-brushed and perlage finishes, while the edges are meticulously brushed and the bevels are polished by hand. A dark ruthenium treatment enhances the ensemble, creating a striking visual contrast.

The steel components display a satin finish with polished angles, while each wheel is openworked and circled, reinforcing the visual harmony and depth of the movement.
Finally, the minimalist dial features a sandblasted black opaline flange with white decals, ensuring optimal legibility while emphasizing the purity of the design.

Harmony Between Design and Ergonomics

Designed to deliver a unique sensory experience, the MT1: Chronomètre Tourbillon 7 Jours stands out with its 44mm circular case. Ultra-lightweight and entirely free of sharp edges or lugs, it ensures an integrated fit and unparalleled comfort on the wrist. The domed sapphire crystal enhances the fluidity of its lines, while the crown’s integration on the caseback further improves ergonomics and handling.

Its interchangeable strap, equipped with a discreet push-button system, allows for immediate customization: calfskin leather, alligator, textile, or rubber, paired with either a pin buckle or deployant clasp. Every detail is thoughtfully designed to adapt to the wearer’s preferences and elevate the horological experience.

Exclusivity and Horological Ambitions

Priced at CHF 68,000 (excluding taxes), the MT1: Chronomètre Tourbillon 7 Jours will be available in highly limited quantities through Kross Studio’s official website and its network of exclusive retailers.

To affirm its exceptional status within the realm of independent high watchmaking, the MT1: Chronomètre Tourbillon 7 Jours will compete for the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) as well as the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize 2025–2026.

With the MT1: Chronomètre Tourbillon 7 Jours, Marco Tedeschi presents a resolutely contemporary vision of haute horlogerie, blending technical innovation with timeless aesthetics—paving the way for future exceptional creations.
