Commentary
While Projekt 01 Variant “G” doesn’t alter the fundamentals of Kollokium’s neubrutalist architecture, it does shift the mood. The cornflower blue dial, paired with deep navy PVD pins and subtle handset variations, introduces a quieter tension. It’s not a radical departure, but it’s not a mere color swap either.
For those already invested in Kollokium’s design language, Variant “G” reads as a tonal pivot—still graphic, still tactile, but now dressed in something closer to oxford cloth than ballistic nylon. For newcomers, it’s a gentler on-ramp: the same industrial case, the same hand-set dial, but with a palette that invites rather than confronts.

At SGD 5,555 including taxes, it remains priced in the sweet spot of premium casual luxury. The die-cast steel case, La Joux-Perret G101 movement, and hand-applied dial elements justify the cost in terms of labor and intent, even if not everyone will see it as value. But that’s the point: Kollokium isn’t trying to be universal. Variant “G” is for those who want their watch to feel like a design decision, not just a product.
Release details
This sixth iteration of Projekt 01 marks a shift toward more conventional color tones, introducing a matte cornflower blue dial paired with blue emission Super-LumiNova. The studded dial layout—featuring 468 steel pins in varying dimensions—is retained, with each pin hand-filled with luminescent pigment and finished in matte navy blue PVD. The result is a dial that remains highly dimensional, though less visually aggressive than previous variants.

Two handset configurations are offered: G1 features metallic blue PVD hour and minute hands with white seconds. G2 uses white hour and minute hands with a blue PVD seconds hand. Both are lume-free, relying on dial luminosity for nighttime legibility. The choice reflects Kollokium’s recurring indecision around hand design, now passed on to the customer.

The case remains unchanged in architecture. Forged via die-cast 316L steel—a process rarely used in watchmaking—it delivers a raw, unpolished texture that resists conventional finishing. The two-part construction includes a barrel-shaped base with cruciform lug forms and a cylindrical case middle engraved with the internal project name (K,P-nº01). A triangular valve-style crown completes the industrial aesthetic.

Inside, the watch is powered by La Joux-Perret’s G101 automatic movement. It offers a 68-hour power reserve, 4Hz frequency, and a uni-directional rotor. The movement is left unsigned and unadorned, consistent with Kollokium’s decision to remain hands-off in mechanical development.
The strap is a single-piece elastic textile with a die-cast steel hook buckle. Designed for breathability and ease of adjustment, it draws inspiration from outdoor gear and connected devices, reinforcing the utilitarian theme.
