Hanhart introduces a new chronograph with a rather interesting name…called #FliegerFriday, this chronograph is a limited edition of 100 pieces, and is an elaboration over their Pioneer TwinControl pilot chronograph.

Commentary
The naming convention by Hanhart suggests that they are trying to be hip and keep up to date, with a hashtag #FliegerFriday, which has been use on the interweb since 2015. Hashtags have been around since the 1960s, entering the internet lingo circa 2008 with the arrival of Twitter. Omega has used #SpeedyTuesday, first originated from Fratello Watches’ RJ Broer in 2012.
But still using a popular hashtag, #FliegerFriday had about 36k post on last quick search on Instagram, still shows they are trying to keep up with the times. The watch is produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces, and is black DLC case version with a dial elaboration over the standard Pioneer TwinControl, which was available only as a white or black dial. The #FliegerFriday offers this in a beautiful blue dial. The same red coded reset chronograph pusher is retained.
Being a special execution of the existing Pioneer TwinControl, there is a price premium – EUR 2,490 for the #FliegerFriday, while the regular one is EUR 2,840.

A royal blue dial combined with a blue ox leather strap with a suede finish and red accents give the model a unique character. The black DLC coated case with red pushers completes the modern design. Despite the courage to use color, the typical Hanhart features are also unmistakable in this chronograph: bi-compax dial layout, asymmetrical pusher distance, large aviator crown and red pusher.
The Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating of the case combines aesthetics with performance. The deep black gives the watch a unique character. At the same time, as the name of the DLC coating suggests, the stainless steel case becomes as hard as a diamond. At the same time, DLC coatings have excellent abrasion protection and perfect corrosion protection. Ideal for a chronograph that is meant to last for generations.
With a diameter of 42 mm and a height of 15 mm, the #FliegerFriday Edition is present on the wrist, but not out of proportion. With its strap made of blue ox leather with a suede finish, the #FliegerFriday is comfortable to wear from day one.
